Description

A shocking incident has occurred! Genius guitarist: The original DAT master of the legendary soundboard, which is John Sykes’s masterpiece, has been newly discovered. What is engraved in his masterpiece is the “August 25, 1989: Nippon Seinenkan” performance. This is the leaked stereo sound board recording. This soundboard is truly legendary. When it comes to live albums by Sykes, who has gone solo (for the sake of convenience, I will say this), it is customary to make them in Japan, such as “SCREAMING BLUE MURDER” and “BAD BOY LIVE!”, but this work is that super album. The era of the masterpiece “BLUE MURDER”. It conveys the strongest trio ensemble of Carmine Appis & Tony Franklin with a completely official super sound, and is a classic among the classics that has been an “official replacement” for many years. Masterpieces such as “INNOCENT CRIME” and “DEFINITIVE VOYAGE 1989” were big hits, but although this work is the same sound board recording, it is different from the previous ones. This time, it is a shocking work that has been digitized directly from the original DAT master that was finally discovered! Of course, since it is Omoto, it has updated the longest and highest peak ever, but first of all, it is the show position. Let’s take a look back at his schedule for his first solo visit to Japan, which is still talked about as a legend.・August 20th-23rd: MZA Ariake (4 performances)《August 24th: Off》・August 25th: Nippon Seinenkan ←★This work★ ・August 26th: Club Citta Kawasaki ・August 27th Sunday: Osaka Festival Hall, 7 performances in total. In “THREE PIRATES…RIOT”, which was the first appearance of this sound board, it was listed as “MZA Ariake”, but that was a miscredit. The correct venue is Nippon Seinenkan, the 5th performance. Now, when I tried to play back the original DAT that was so shocking…I suddenly heard a sound I had never heard before! The previous editions all started with the synth sound of “Riot,” but this work was recorded from the venue BGM (“Reckless” by JUDAS PRIEST) that was played before the performance. The same goes for the final part. The conventional version ended with Sykes’ MC “We’ll back and play soon! Thank you, Tokyo!!”, but the DAT was actually spinning even after that. The venue BGM (JUDAS PRIEST’s “Turbo Lover”) was played, and the venue’s closing announcement was also recorded on a high-quality sound board. Moreover, this is an explosion of the times. In addition to the familiar message, “Thank you, all today’s performances have ended,” and merchandise sales, they also announced tickets for upcoming concerts. The content is intense, and the names of CATS IN BOOTS, Tommy Conwell, WINGER, KIX, and BULLETBOYS are lined up in the September schedule, and BLACK SABBATH is coming in October. A sense of the times that could only exist in 1989 bursts out all at once. I was excited by the contents of the first experience that suddenly jumped out, but if you look at it as a whole, it is just evidence of the original DAT. What’s even more shocking is the sound that permeates throughout. This is already super thick and super natural! At first glance, it may feel a little warmer than before, but this is the result of repeated mastering. This work is the real sound. In fact, the fineness of the minute details exceeds that of any conventional board. For example, “Valley Of The Kings”. In the intro, the keyboard plays the deep low notes of a double bass, and the vibe is so subtle! On the conventional version, it just sounds like a single note is playing for a long time, but on the Omoto DAT, it was solid and thick, and even had a very slight oscillation. Even the most subtle details can be clearly seen. Of course, this is just one example. Carmine’s drumming, which is full of singing spirit, makes you feel the vibrations of the skin, and Franklin’s dancing fretless bass is also detailed from the rise of each note to the moment of silence. And above all, John Sykes’ guitar and singing voice! That thick tone has become even more powerful, and the details have also been improved, and the dynamic distortion, crying choke, the signature grease, and the deadly harmonics are all at the same vibration level as the strings. Omoto DAT has absorbed so much information…The “real sound” that instantly fades the super sound board that you have heard so far comes out. What is depicted in such an original sound is a fierce full show by “the best performance of a genius guitarist vs. a top-notch rhythm team.” The ensemble structure of the battle premise is the key, but the set is extremely rare and special. Let’s organize the contents here. Original (8 songs)・BLUE MURDER: Riot/Valley Of The Kings/Out Of Love/Billy/Ptolemy/Jelly Roll/Blue Murder・Others: Boogie On The Good Foot Cover (4 songs)・Hot Legs (Rod Stewart) /Still Of The Night (WHITESNAKE) /Closer (THE FIRM) /Purple Haze (Jimi Hendrix)…and so on. I was going to mark the songs that can’t be heard on “SCREAMING BLUE MURDER” and “BAD BOY LIVE!” with a “★”, but most of them are included. Even if the two official live performances are combined, only “Riot”, “Billy”, “Jelly Roll” and “Still Of The Night” are the same, and the other eight songs are a repertoire that is unique to 1989. The famous songs from the famous album “BLUE MURDER” have been greatly upgraded with live performances, and each song is incredibly powerful. The unreleased instrumental song “Boogie On The Good Foot” also shows off a fierce battle. All of them are amazing, but I especially want to mention “Out Of Love.” The extra-thick Les Paul makes the song nearly two minutes longer than the studio version, and makes you cry. However, there is no softness at all, and it is truly a tear-jerking solo. It is a masterpiece of Sykes’s generation, and he is making an ultimate solo that cannot be reached even by his master Gary Moore. It was a highlight on the previous edition, but I didn’t know that the real sound was so loud and delicate… Moreover, the passionate singing that rivals such a legendary solo is amazing. The singing, which almost becomes a scream, is a vocalization that makes blood vomit against the crying solo. Once again, no matter how passionate Coverdale may be, the urgency that only Sykes can sing is heart-wrenching. The originals alone are enough to break my heart, but even rarer are the many covers. On their second visit to Japan, BLUE MURDER played like a Sykes solo, but on their first visit to Japan, they were a super band made up of talented people. Selected from the careers of the three, Rod’s “Hot Legs” by Carmine, THE FIRM’s “Closer” by Franklin, and Sykes’ “Still Of The Night” repertoire will be played. It is a show that is made possible by these three people, but the most interesting thing is the 11-minute “Still Of The Night”. Suddenly, Sykes starts with a bold mistake in the position, but he continues to play regardless, and Carmine is also dynamically exciting with the most percussive drumming, which is completely different from WHITESNAKE (this sense is a genius after all!). It is a famous song that has many variations, from the original WHITESNAKE to the later SYKES, COVERDALE/PAGE, and M3, but I have never heard a version that is so bold and fierce, yet so delicate. It’s an incredible live performance that overflows with the genius of the geniuses, even though there are some spectacular mistakes. BLUE MURDER’s first visit to Japan is a superb soundboard that has been praised as “John Sykes’ masterpiece”, both officially and unofficially. This is a transcendental live album that has evolved to the ultimate level by the original DAT master. The preciousness and the sound quality, each one is transcendent and definitely a cultural heritage grade, but even more than that, I was especially moved when I listened to it. You can’t stop underground albums because you can come across things like this. Direct recording from the original DAT. This is the best-sounding album to date and has been recorded for the longest time. Live at Nippon Seinenkan, Tokyo, Japan 25th August 1989 STEREO SBD (from Original Masters)*UPGRADE & LONGER!!!
