Description
Blackmore’s Night’s 1997 Japan tour in support of their first album “Shadow On The Moon” began with a performance at Nakano Sunplaza on November 2nd, then traveled across Honshu to Kobe, Hiroshima, Osaka, Tokyo, Kanagawa, and Sendai. A total of seven performances were held, and the wonderful stage performance received great acclaim in various places. Completely different from Deep Purple and Rainbow’s Richie, the tasteful live performance focused on acoustic sounds was wonderful, and included songs from “Shadow On The Moon”, the title track “Under A Violet Moon”, which was played as a trailer for the next album, Furthermore, with rainbow covers incorporated in various parts and electric parts in the second half, the performance was diverse and never monotonous, satisfying many fans. This edition directly uses the original DAT master, which is not available on the internet or even among traders. In the latter half of the tour, the live performance at the International Forum on November 8th, the second day in Tokyo, is completely recorded for about 1 hour and 50 minutes with high-quality audience recording. The sound quality is very stable and the sound is clear. Almost perfect content except for a brief moment of DAT-specific digital deterioration at 2:50 of Under A Violet Moon. From the original tape of The Clock Ticks On with the opening Smoke On The Water inserted, to Wish You Were Here performed in the third encore, it is a complete recording of 1 hour and 50 minutes. All the members wear Medieval European costumes and perform Renaissance-style music at a fast pace. Even just listening to the sound alone, it’s worth listening to. Candice, whose ability as a lead vocalist was initially doubted by some, showed off her magnificent singing voice in each song, receiving a huge ovation from the audience. On November 30th, just before the tour, Richie made a live appearance on News Station and performed a live performance of Spirit Of The Sea, promoting himself in a way that was unimaginable from Richie before. , the attitude of betting on (devoting) this new unit is very serious. The stable and deep acoustic play captivates listeners with its wonderful sense of scale. In fact, he was in such a good mood on stage that when the audience called him “Ritchie!”, he would repeat “Ritchie!” The audience was extremely enthusiastic, and even during the acoustic numbers they cheered enthusiastically. In the first half of the show, The Temple Of The King and 16th Century Greensleeves will be played as rainbow tracks, but when Candace introduces “Next is the rainbow song”, a smug feeling arises from the audience seats, as if they were waiting for it. At The Temple Of The King, where Candace’s vocals fit perfectly, the audience is quietly listening to the beautiful voice, but at 16th Century Greensleeves, the applause is so tremendous that the song is almost drowned out. At the end of the following Memminigen, he played a glimpse of the phrase “Morning” by “Peer Gynt” (Greek). Near the end of the show, Rainbow’s Ariel will be played in an original arrangement. After the show ended happily with The Clock Ticks On, it was time for the long-awaited encore. Fans will be impressed by the noisy excitement of Richie’s Still I’m Sad with an electric guitar in hand. In the second half, Difficult To Cure appeared. It was like a festival inside. Man On The Silver Mountain’s full performance of Man On The Silver Mountain, which had a great excitement in the venue due to the classical keyboard solo and the “Swan Lake” motif, and the intense electric riff (Ritchie’s solo in the song is also excellent) ), the dramatic Street Of Dreams that suddenly starts immediately after taking a breather is truly exquisite (not so much the performance, but the choice), and the enthusiastic audience “sharing a special time”, and the overwhelming A sense of elation can be felt from this vivid recording. The last song was a touching performance of Wish You Were Here, just like the last song on the “Shadow On The Moon” album. After the performance, Richie was very satisfied with the success of the concert and went around shaking hands with the audience in the front row. I’m sure he was very happy and satisfied that his long-held dream of renaissance music project was a success and that it received such a warm welcome from the audience. Black Moz Night is still active as of 2012, but unfortunately they have only performed in Japan twice, in 1997 and 2004. From that precious first performance in Japan, please fully enjoy the International Forum performance, which is the second show in Tokyo, held at the largest venue representing the tour, with a high-quality new master.
