Description
“SABOTAGE TOUR” has been hailed as “the best tour of the 70s” by enthusiasts. A 3-disc set with a gorgeous archive of the best recordings is now available. There are three performances engraved in this work: “Chicago performance on July 16, 1975,” “Baltimore performance on August 2 of the same year,” and “San Bernardino performance on September 5 of the same year.” Each is a historical masterpiece audience recording set. [“SABOTAGE TOUR”, the peak period praised by enthusiasts] “SABOTAGE TOUR” was the very peak of the peak. It is difficult to discuss the best studio version of Sabbath in the 1970s, but when it comes to live performances, opinions are surprisingly narrowed down, and “SABOTAGE TOUR” is particularly popular. Signature songs such as “Iron Man” and “Black Sabbath”, which had been removed for a while, are back, as well as “Killing Yourself To Live,” “Hole In The Sky,” “Symptom Of The Universe,” “Megalomania,” “Sabbra Cadabra,” and “Spiral Architect.” They also performed a group of masterpieces from the middle period. It deliciously concentrates the essence of the early stages, while also being rich in the flavor of the mid-stages. Moreover, the flow is unique. Until “SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH TOUR,” the changes were seamless as they wrote new songs and replaced them little by little during the tour, but with “SABOTAGE TOUR,” they completely changed their minds. Moreover, it is different from the later “TECHNICAL ECSTACY TOUR” and “NEVER SAY DIE TOUR”, and is “a tour different from any other era”. Another point is that keyboardist: Gerald Woodruff is included. After “VOL.4″, Sabbath expanded the range of their sound by boldly introducing keyboards, but for a long time only the four of them performed live. For this reason, the live sound could not depict the original world of the song, and the selection itself was narrow. Perhaps trying to improve the situation, the sound evolved at once by having Woodruff participate in “SABOTAGE TOUR”. Not only was it possible to play “Spiral Architect”, which was impossible with four people, but songs such as “Snowblind” and “Children Of The Grave” became more colorful than ever. “SABOTAGE TOUR” is popular among enthusiasts for its unique flow and rich ensemble, but speaking of this tour, the ultimate soundboard album “LIVE LONGEST… DIE AT LAST: DEFINITIVE EDITION (Zodiac 305)” The most famous, and recently released, the strongest audience recording of the entire history of Sabbath, “DEFINITIVE PROVIDENCE 1975 (Zodiac 344)”, is also very popular. Although it is true (lol) that it is okay as long as you keep these two records, there are other great recordings that you cannot miss. Moreover, all such masterpieces are (for some reason) concentrated on the North American tour. This work is a 3-disc set that allows you to collect all the famous recordings “other than” the two major peaks at once. Now, let’s check the show’s position from the overall picture of the tour that reached its peak in the 1970s. ●1975, July 14: Toledo performance, July 16: Chicago performance ←★DISC 1★・July 17-27 (7 performances)《“SABOTAGE” released on July 28》・8 August 1st: Detroit performance ・August 2nd: Baltimore performance ←★This work DISC 2★ ・August 3rd “DEFINITIVE PROVIDENCE 1975” ・August 4th: New York performance ・August 5th “LIVE LONGEST… DIE AT LAST”・August 6th – September 4th (14 performances)・September 5th: San Bernardino performance ←★This work DISC 3★・September 6th – 14th (7 performances)・October 9th – November 22nd: Europe (21 performances) December 3rd – 13th: North America (7 performances) 1976, January 8th – 13th: Europe (6 performances) …and like this It has become. In addition to the top press two titles, three audience recordings were discovered on the North American tour, and this work can complete all three at once. Moreover, all three of these books are masterpieces. In other words, there is not a single bad recording in “North America 1975” (There are some recordings after the European leg in October, but they are generally poor. Only “HAMMERSMITH STORY 1975-1976″ can be called a masterpiece. is). DISC 1: Chicago performance on July 16, 1975] The explanation has become a little detailed, but anyway, “1975 North America” is exceptional even in the 70s in terms of both quality and content. Its splendor explodes from the beginning of this work, Disc 1 (Chicago performance)! Some of the three songs included in this work have been recorded in the past, but this Chicago performance was somehow not made into a bootleg. That’s why the quality is so strict…but you might think it’s the opposite. The details are so vivid and clear that you can’t believe it’s from the 70’s. In particular, the guitar is powerful and close when turned on. Of course, it would be unreasonable for the power to become a roar or an explosion, but there is no need to worry about that with this recording, rather it is very stable and refreshing. Unfortunately, the highlights at the end of the show were not recorded, but even if you push it, it is one of the best recordings of “SABOTAGE TOUR”. In fact, “SABOTAGE TOUR” cannot be the pinnacle because the strongest “DEFINITIVE PROVIDENCE 1975” of the 70s exists, but if this was a show from the “VOL.4 TOUR” or “SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH TOUR” era. Tara is definitely No. 1 on tour. [DISC 2: Performance in Baltimore, August 2, 1975] Next up is the performance in Baltimore, the day before the miracle work “DEFINITIVE PROVIDENCE 1975”. This recording is different from the Chicago performance, and has been known as a standard of “SABOTAGE TOUR”. Of course, the quality is also excellent, worthy of the classic name. In contrast to the neat Chicago performance (disc 1), this work is a power recording. The beauty of the sound may not be as good as the other two performances, but the guitar and vocals are strong and approachable, and along with that, there is no sense of distance in the edges and details. Unfortunately, this recording is not a full recording, but the point is different. The other two had missing recordings at the end of the show and at the encore, but this recording was on the contrary at the beginning. Although the opening songs “Supertzar” and “Killing Yourself To Live” are missing, you can thoroughly enjoy the last encore song “Paranoid.” This work is also a set that gives you a panoramic view of the wonderful “SABOTAGE TOUR” while the three recordings complement each other. [DISC 3: San Bernardino performance, September 5, 1975] The last thing that appears is the best recording that is the highlight of this work. In fact, it has been considered the pinnacle recording of “SABOTAGE TOUR” along with the Providence performance that was made into a press. The most wonderful thing is the intense direct feeling and clarity. The heavy guitar riff approaches in front of you without any sense of distance, and the high tones of Ozzy, who has reached his peak as a singer, jump into your ears. It is no exaggeration to say that this straight-shooting feeling surpasses even the super masterpiece “DEFINITIVE PROVIDENCE 1975”. As a matter of fact, the Providence recording has been elevated to “the strongest audience recording of the 1970s” because its shortcomings have been completely repaired, but this recording was also once lined up. However, unlike Providence, there is no way to overcome the drawback that “Children Of The Grave” and “Paranoid” are not recorded. Therefore, it cannot be expected to rise to the ultimate edition like “DEFINITIVE PROVIDENCE 1975”, but it is still the tour No. 2. It is truly a representative recording of the most important period. The miraculous “1975 North American leg” is the pinnacle of the 70’s and has no missing recordings. “LIVE LONGEST… DIE AT LAST: DEFINITIVE EDITION” and “DEFINITIVE PROVIDENCE 1975” are suitable for introduction to this, and their throne is not shaken in the slightest. However, it would be a waste to limit the era when Original Sabbath reached its peak with just two live albums. This work is a masterpiece collection that should be enjoyed by those who were shocked by the above two books. “SABOTAGE TOUR” recording is complete).
