Description
From the European tour that BLACK SABBATH conducted in January 1974 after the release of “SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH”, the Gothenburg, Sweden performance on January 11th is now available as a high-quality audience recording. SABBATH, who started their tour in December 1973 with the release of “SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH”, performed a total of four performances in the UK, starting with the Newcastle performance on December 9th and ending on December 17th, before returning to the stage. Shift to Europe. Until the beginning of the year, January 19, 1974, they performed live mainly in Germany, and also played circuits in Sweden and the Netherlands, getting used to the upcoming American tour. This sound source to be released this time includes the first day of the warm-up tour in continental Europe, the Gothenburg, Sweden performance on January 11, 1974, from a high-ranking audience master that far exceeds the previous releases. Immediately after this sound source appeared overseas, it was so well balanced that some people misunderstood it as a line sound source, and its well-balanced sound is one of the best on the tour that year. Perhaps due to aging of the material, the original master looks a little cloudy, and there were some tape twists in some places, but with the remaster, these have been improved to a level that does not interfere with the enjoyment of the live performance. . In addition, the unique rounded sound is gentle on the ears, and you won’t feel stressed even when listening to it live. The opening scene, where “Tomorrow’s Dream” starts from the intro where the members check their respective sounds, is a great place to listen to, and the 70’s mood is irresistible. After the end of “Sweet Leaf”, Ozzy mistakenly calls out the name of the song during the MC, saying, “The next song is Children Of The Grave from ‘SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH. You can enjoy the atmosphere. Another nice point is that you can listen to “Cornucopia”, which was not featured in the live recording of “1974”. This sound source will be an important one as a document that captures the transition period from the previous work “Vol. 4” tour to the new live performance. The medley jam session part of “Sabbra Cadabra”, which was a major feature of SABBATH live at the time, is somewhat shorter than the American tour, but it still takes up about 34 minutes and occupies a large part of the show. Iommi, Geezer, and Bill’s playing, which has a jazz background, shines even more clearly in free jams like this, and even in long solo parts, they keep fans listening to the performance without getting bored (note that track 9 “Jam” and ” There are some cuts in the drum solo that continues from “Supernaut”, but this is not a big problem in understanding the flow of the live performance). Although you cannot listen to “Paranoid” with this sound source, it will last more than 70 minutes until the live ends with “Children Of The Grave”, showing the listeners the awesomeness of the original SABBATH at its peak. Please enjoy this precious page of the “SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH” live show, which was especially noteworthy during BLACK SABBATH’s tours in the 1970s, with the best sound and listenability ever!
