Description
Speaking of the live show that represents BLACK SABBATH in the mid-70s, it would be the sound board sound source at Asbury Park, New Jersey on August 5, ’75 during the American tour accompanying the release of “SABOTAGE”. Because this sound source has such an outstanding presence, the audience recording from the same period is a bit inconspicuous.・This work “MEGALOMANIA”, which includes the “Center” performance, will entertain you with a wonderful sound that is comparable to the standard sound board sound source even though it is an audience recording. This work is a treasured live take by Dan Lampinski, who has been surprising live sound source collectors for the past few years, and is a super vintage sound source that was unknown in the past. When this sound source saw the light of day, it became a big topic among overseas enthusiasts, saying, “I can’t believe there was such an amazing audience recording at this time!” The sound quality of this recording is as wonderful as you would expect from recording sources such as BLUE OYSTER CULT from the same period. Not only does it have an extremely clear outlook, but it also has a wide sound package that does not impair the atmosphere of the venue, and a realistic feeling that allows you to vividly experience the excitement inside the venue, all of which are of press CD quality. Of course, the performance is very easy to listen to, and the musical sound, in which all the members’ performances centering on Ozzy’s vocals, is composed of an ideal sense of separation and symmetry, is so amazing that a bad line source can run away barefoot! In the first half of the live show, there are some fluctuations in the sound and changes in the sound image due to the master state (as the live progresses, the sound improves and becomes completely stable around “Symptom Of The Universe”), but this recording is It is even miraculous that it was left for 100 minutes. The live performance that starts with “Killing Yourself To Live” is unique to this period. The metallic and doomy “Hole In The Sky” from “SABOTAGE” is also a big listening point on the same year’s tour. “Snowblind” and “War Pigs”, which can be said to be synonymous with the original SABBATH, will also be reproduced with a heavy metal edge, adding a metallic texture to the guitar sound from around this tour. “Symptom Of The Universe”, which had a great influence on later thrash hardcore bands, was a huge explosion of energy from the young members. Iommi’s guitar, which is sharp like a saw blade, carves out riffs with a sharpness that would hurt you if you touch it, Bill Ward’s drumming that shakes the venue, and Geezer Butler’s dark, undulating bass, all with the ultimate power. It will knock out the listener! “Megalomania”, the last song on Disc 1, has a splendid momentum between the calming first half and the dramatic middle to second half. We can see that the results of the experiments here bore fruit in the later “Heaven And Hell”. Disc 2, where the medley of “Sabbra Cadabra” begins in the second half of the live show, is an even better recording from the beginning than the first half, with a jam part in which Iommi, Geezer, and Bill unfold in a relaxed manner, and “Sometimes I’m Happy”. ”, “Supernaut”, and “Iron Man”, you can listen to the whole thing with amazing power and clear sound. The overwhelming sense of scale of “Black Sabbath”, which concludes the over 40 minute medley, is sure to leave even die-hard SABBATH enthusiasts stunned! Furthermore, “Spiral Architect”, which is featured at the end of the set, is recorded with the clarity of a line sound source (Gerald Woodruff’s synth in the song is also clear and intense)! The realism of the drums and guitar in the climax “Children Of The Gave” and “Paranoid” is also excellent, and the sound quality of this recording will surprise the listener until the very end! This work is definitely one of the best audience recordings of BLACK SABBATH in the ’70s. It is one of the best high-quality sound sources that has won awards along with the Fresno, California performances in 1976 and 1978, and the Sweden Rand performances in 1977! If you are a fan who doesn’t have this work, don’t miss out and get it! Live at Civic Center, Providence, RI. USA 3rd August 1975 TRULY AMAZING/PERFECT SOUND 1. Intro : Supertzar 2.
