Description
“VOL.4” is famous as one of the best records of the original BLACK SABBATH from the early 70’s. The valuable American tour sound source from that time is the definitive version that directly uses the 1st generation master provided by overseas collectors, and it has been decided to be released! Don’t miss out on this one that will surprise all Sabbath enthusiasts! All of Sabbath’s early works are masterpieces, but it is “VOL.4” released in 1972 that is said to have reached the peak of their unique musicality and heaviness. From this period’s tour, the live tour of the UK in March 1973 was recorded by the band and later became “LIVE AT LAST” (currently compiled as “PAST LIVES”). However, the sound source of the American tour that took place in 1972, before and after the release of the album, lasted for two months, but only two performances have been confirmed. One of them is the audience recording of the Dayton, Ohio performance on July 15th, which is considered a classic by fans. “UNDER THE SUN” (Shades), which used high-quality materials to turn a sound source that had long been exchanged only between traders, into an item, received high praise from fans. This time, the Dayton performance will be made into a recording from the 1st Generation Master, provided by the same person as “BERLIN 1970” and “CHICAGO 1983: The Legendary Master”! Compared to listening to previous releases using domestic distribution masters, the resolution, thickness, and power of the sound are completely different. Furthermore, there are many surprising points, such as fewer missing sounds that were seen in the previous master. The opening songs “Tomorrow’s Dream” and “Sweet Leaf” do not have the early sound breaks that were seen in previous releases, and smoothly invite the listener to the depths of Sabbath live. The set that flows from here to “Snowblind”, which takes up the drug disaster that was attacking the band at the time, is full of the heaviness unique to this period. Furthermore, “Under The Sun”, which is sandwiched between the classic “War Pigs” and “Iron Man”, is the first big listen! The heavy riffs and unique grooves that crush the listener are the magic of early SABBATH. It will be interesting to listen to and compare it with the 2013 version that was played at the performance in Japan. Furthermore, “Wicked World”, which features Iommi’s long solo for nearly 10 minutes, allows the listener to understand the essence of Sabbath as a live band. Another listening point of this work is “Wheels Of Confusion”. Even in the ’70s, we will enjoy the famous songs that were sealed until 2012, 40 years later, with a listening pleasure that far exceeds the previous releases (currently ’70’s ”Wheels Of Confusion”) This Dayton performance is the only time you can hear it in its entirety)! After that, “Children Of The Grave”, which starts with “Embryo” as an intro, is also amazingly powerful. For fans, every scene is a must-listen take, until “Paranoid” is played with explosive impulsiveness! With the best master provided by overseas collectors, new life has been given to the valuable live source of ’72! If you are a maniac who loves original Sabbath, the ’72 live performance of this recording is a must-listen, as well as “BERLIN 1970” and “SABBATH IN NASHVILLE 1978”! This is the only time you can get this definitive sound source. All Sabbath fans, don’t miss this chance! (58:30) 1. Tomorrow’s Dream 2. Sweet Leaf 3. Snowblind 4. War Pigs 5. Under The Sun 6.
