Description

“HEAVEN AND HELL TOUR” has returned to its peak with Ronnie James Dio. The only multi-camera pro shot will be released. This work was filmed at “Long Island performance on October 17, 1980.” Yes, the true identity of this work is the official video “BLACK & BLUE”. The official product was a coupling with BLUE OYSTER CULT, but this is a live DVD that reconstructs only the BLACK SABBATH edition. Speaking of “HEAVEN AND HELL TOUR”, Bill Ward disappeared on the way, and it was also an encounter with Vinnie Appice, who became Ronnie’s ally. Including that, first let’s check the show’s position in the overall picture of the world tour. ●1980《“HEAVEN AND HELL” released on April 25》・April 17-June 26: Europe (36 performances)・July 2-August 19: North America #1 (26 performances)《 Bill leaves → Vinny joins >> August 31st – November 8th: North America #2 (42 performances) ←★Coco★ November 16th – 21st: First visit to Japan (6 performances) – November 24th – 29th: Australia (5 performances) ● January 18th – February 2nd, 1981: UK (14 performances) This is an overview of the tour that took the world by storm with a new sound. A total of 129 performances were held, but Bill and Vinnie had about half each. Under such circumstances, the Long Island performance of this work is “North America #2” immediately after Vinnie joined. This was the 30th concert. This “North America #2” is also known as the “BLACK & BLUE TOUR”, and most (but not all) are coupling performances with BLUE OYSTER CULT. “BLACK & BLUE” is also a coupling work. Although “BLACK & BLUE” was released on VHS/laser disc at the time, it has been out of print for a long time. It was released on official DVD by UNIVERSAL in 2004, but it has long since been discontinued, and now even second-hand and copy discs come with a premium price. This work is its highest peak version. Re-edited from the official UNIVERSAL edition DVD. Not only have we extracted the BLACK SABBATH part, but we have also made the order of the songs, which had been significantly rearranged, in accordance with the actual show. The official video that has been revived with the highest quality is truly a masterpiece. Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler have returned to their prime, and Ronnie, who is more aggressive than the RAINBOW era, goes wild and howls in multi-camera professional shots. Ronnie in particular is in the midst of a big break, and his actions and vocalizations are sharp. Although it has been a month and a half since Vinny joined, they have performed 30 performances intensively, and the ensemble has solidified and is also fiercely fresh. The joy of resurrection and the momentum of running up the ladder of success. There is an incredible chemical reaction going on. Even more interesting is Mike Trouble. At the end of the first song, “War Pigs,” the song is turned off by the heroic sing-along, and Ronnie’s voice can no longer be heard. Moreover, the problem did not recover even with the next “Neon Nights”, and the song could not proceed beyond the intro. I get it back by going back to the sleeve and replacing the microphone, but it still cuts out for a moment and I’m nervous. Ronnie is also surprised and has a wry smile, but the action still manages to look flashy. That feeling of idling is really… Even so, it’s hard to believe that they narrowed it down to seven songs, included the song that caused the problem, and commercialized it without any overdubs. Even though it was in 1980, the dawn of home video, you could say it was too bold and unofficial, or you could go full circle and say it was official… However, the performance itself is so amazing that even such troubles are blown away. Although there are many professional shots in the 90’s and the 21st century rejoining era, there is only one shot from the 80’s, which is the key point. The highest version of that precious official video. Nassau Coliseum, Long Island, NY, USA 17th October 1980 PRO-SHOT (46:32) 1. War Pigs 2. Neon Knights 3. N.I.B. 4. Heaven And Hell 5. Iron Man 6.
