Description
This is a collection of five chronologically recorded professional live performances, all in master quality, that summarize the band’s career from 1990 to 2009. First, disc 1 records the New Haven performance on April 30, 1990. This is the earliest representative footage, about three months after the release of “SHAKE YOUR MONEY MAKER,” which marked their shocking debut. It was shot by a person in the back of the venue in front of the stage with a single camera for recording purposes, and since it was a venue setup camera, it was not a multi-camera, but the youthful appearance immediately after their debut is a must-see, and they also performed “You’re Wrong” and “It’s A Sin,” which were not included in the album. The following disc 2 is a recording of their appearance at the “PINKPOP FESTIVAL” held in the Netherlands on June 4, 1990, and includes a complete 66-minute full set, with a time counter different from the TV broadcast version. Furthermore, disc 3 contains the performance in Cologne on November 17, 1992. This is a digital master version of the standard live performance aired on the familiar German program “ROCKPALAST” during the period of “THE SOUTHERN HARMONY AND MUSICAL COMPANION,” which reached No. 1 in the United States, and the quality is perfect without complaint. The set also condenses the heyday, with six songs from “SHAKE YOUR MONEY MAKER,” seven songs from “THE SOUTHERN HARMONY AND MUSICAL COMPANION,” and Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds.” And disc 4 contains the performance in Essen, Germany on November 15, 1996. This is a live performance that represents the jam band era after “AMORICA” and “THREE SNAKES AND ONE CHARM.” There were almost no TV appearances or professional shots during this period, and this is also recorded from a precious master that was aired on “ROCKPALAST.” The set was mainly “AMORICA” songs, with three songs each from “THREE SNAKES AND ONE CHARM” and “SHAKING YOUR MONEY MAKER”, and no songs from the million-seller “THE SOUTHERN HARMONY AND MUSICAL COMPANION”. The climax of the album, “High Head Blues”, is a thrilling 10-minute jam that picks up tempo towards the end, showing the band’s true essence. The last disc:5 jumps forward to 2009, and features footage of their performance at the “AZKENA ROCK FESTIVAL” held in Spain on May 15th. After the release of “WARPAINT”, the band returned to the top 5 in the US for the first time since their heyday, and the official live “WARPAINT LIVE” was also released, but unlike the official version, which was themed around recreating “WARPAINT”, this is a regular-style concert, with plenty of nostalgic rock and blues that can be said to be a recreation of the golden age.
