The first and second performances of the 1978 Japan tour at Osaka Koseinenkin Hall on September 13th were recorded directly from the host’s introduction of the members, and the newly excavated audience master tapes were recorded directly from the audience master tapes. The quality is so high that it is hard to believe that it was an audience recording from that time. The clarity of the sound, the balance and separation of each part, the realism and power, everything is amazing. Evans’ rare and delicate touch can be heard beautifully, and this is a great performance that will leave you intoxicated by the deep playing. As a fan, I am happy to be able to listen to this precious unreleased live performance of this great pianist who continues to capture the hearts of his fans and shine with a radiance that never fades.
