A collection of the best professional shots focusing on Bill Bruford, spanning 2 hours and 30 minutes, is now available. First up is Feels Good To Me and Back To The Beginning from the precious 1978 Old Grey Whistle Test appearance, featuring the familiar Holdsworth & Stewart, as well as the rare beard of Neil Murray. Next is the Oxford performance broadcast on Rock Goes To College on March 17, 1979. The dramatic performances of The Sahara Of Snow and Forever Until Sunday, which are also famous for their UK live performances, are one of the highlights. As with OGWT, you can also hear Annette Peacock’s vocals. Holdsworth’s technical playing and Jeff Berlin’s bass playing, which wraps the whole thing in a sharp groove, are well worth listening to in every song. Next is a video of Bill hosting on VH1, where you can see a fun talk with Tony Levin and a live performance by his own band, Earthworks. Next is about an hour of professional shot footage broadcast at the Frankfurt Art Rock Festival on February 7, 1987. The interplay between David Tone’s technical and eccentric guitar playing, former Japan member Mick Karn’s unique bass playing, and Bill’s playing, which makes extensive use of Simmons’ drums, is packed with highlights. In addition, two takes are added at the end, which Bill did not participate in, from HATFIELD & THE NORTH’s 1975 Rainbow Theater performance and NATIONAL HEALTH’s pro-shot live performance at OGWT on January 9, 1979.
