Description

The other item to be released in the REMASTER WORKSHOP is titled “THE STEREO WALK”. This is also a nostalgic LP item, but it was released in 1988. Many people may wonder, “Did such an LP even exist?” It is not a particularly rare LP, and there are no new recordings, so it is a typical B-grade bootleg, a collection of previously released recordings released in a color jacket. Unlike the 1970s, when stamp covers and slick covers were the norm, in the 1980s, laminated coating and full-color printed jacket designs became the norm in the bootleg world. On the other hand, even if the content was not that great, it looked good if it was made with a decent color jacket. “THE STEREO WALK” was one of those made in that way. This album was released before the great renaissance of the “The Lost Lennon Tapes” LP series and the “Ultra Rare Trax” CDs, and the excavation of amazing Beatles recordings had stagnated. In that case, the only thing left for bootleggers to do was to make do with a collection of past materials. In fact, most of the recordings on this LP are not rare at all, and the sound quality is more or less degraded from being copied from the original LP. But old bootlegs were like this all the time. That said, the first half is a collection of famous unreleased songs, and it’s very easy to understand. Starting with the unreleased song “Suicide,” there are many recordings of Paul playing the piano and singing, which may be the producer’s preference. “Beatles In The Studio” is a compilation of studio conversations and pre-performance countdowns taken from “SGT. PEPPER’S – A HISTORY OF THE BEATLE YEARS 1962-1970,” a bootleg box set of radio broadcasts. As this peculiar track symbolizes, they were trying to include some rare recordings, and the B-side features some rare recordings in the talk section. These include comments recorded by John to promote the comeback single of local rocker Ronnie Hawkins when he visited Toronto in 1969, and Ringo accepting the Grammy Award for the Concert for Bangladesh on behalf of the performers. Ringo’s drumming on “Back In The U.S.S.R.”, which he performed at a Beach Boys show, is pirated from their promo LP. The B-side is a collection of new material, but it’s a B-grade LP that is full of it, and listening to it now will make you feel nostalgic. In a way, it even sounds more tasteful. The original LP had a low pitch overall, but the REMASTER WORKSHOP’s ability to adjust it properly is a testament to its strengths. This CD allows you to easily enjoy the late 80’s B-grade bootleg LP collection that was blown away by “THE LOST LENNON” and “ULTRA RARE TRAX” in a clean state and with accurate pitch.
