Description

The classic sound source, the Hollywood Bowl consecutive performances on August 29th and 30th, 1965, are now available with a sound that is too intense to be compared to any sound source that has been circulated so far! This is the fourth installment of the popular original demix & remaster series. The Beatles’ 1965 US tour, which continued from the previous year and crossed the North American continent in midsummer. This year’s tour was a cross-continental tour in the opposite direction to the previous year, starting on the East Coast and concluding on the West Coast. The number of performances was about half a month, with 16 performances in 10 cities, which is a lower impression than the previous year. In addition, after moving to the West Coast, there was a rest period of about one week after finishing the live in Portland, so this Hollywood Bowl consecutive performance shows a powerful performance after being fully charged. Although there was a problem with the vocal microphone being turned off on the first day (August 29th) stage, it is well known that the performance is positioned as an outstanding performance in terms of both performance content and sound quality that summarizes the 1965 North American tour. This time, the best existing master of this historic Hollywood Bowl performance was demixed using the latest AI in 2024. The materials separated into multiple tracks such as vocals, chorus, guitar, bass, and drums were reconstructed into an overwhelmingly balanced stereo sound and a mono sound with rich sound pressure. Furthermore, the detailed sound was polished to the utmost by careful remastering work, and this is the completely original “1965 Hollywood Bowl Live” that was supervised by the label. Although the many stereo soundboard sound sources that have been circulated so far have been high-quality records worthy of appreciation, it is unfortunate that the tone of all the instruments was a narrow range biased toward the mid-range, probably because the mix was made with the sound reproduction equipment of the 1960s in mind. In addition, it cannot be denied that the essential singing voice was somewhat scattered due to the influence of the spatial effects applied to the vocals. In order to solve all these problems and reach even greater heights, this work has been remastered optimally for each track separated by demixing, and the vocal sound image has been polished to a gem of a superb sound (stereo and mono) that boasts a rich overtone, overwhelming range, and a well-focused harmonic richness. The first 30 minutes are stereo sound sources boasting an incredible sense of separation and localization of each part, making it hard to believe that this is a live recording from more than half a century ago. The second 30 minutes are mono sound sources (please listen to this at full volume on speakers, not headphones!) with a vintage feel and overwhelming mid-low range sounds. Everyone will be amazed by the superb sound, which is on a completely different level from any (demixed) stereo or mono sound sources that have been on the market until now. A tear-jerking title that vividly brings to life the four who shook the open-air live venue “Hollywood Bowl” every day under the piercing blue California sky, where you can enjoy direct, superb acoustics with almost no sound wraparound! This is the definitive title of the 1965 US tour that captures the miraculous moment of the four people’s dynamic live performance, who became the darlings of this extremely chaotic era, such as the enactment of the Civil Rights Act and the quagmire of the Vietnam War, and gave hope to the world.
