Description
The classic sound source, the Hollywood Bowl performance on August 23, 1964, is now available with an intense sound that is different from any sound source that has been circulated so far! This is the third installment of the popular original demix & remaster series. The promotional activities carried out in February of the same year solidified the band’s popularity in North America, and the band’s first North American tour took place for one month from August to September. This performance, which captures the performance at the beginning of the tour that premiered on the West Coast, is well known as a highly fulfilling performance that should be described as the highlight of the 1964 North American tour, due to the wonderful content of the performance and the fact that the North American tour this year was a tough schedule that visited 24 cities in about one month and performed 32 shows. This time, the best existing master of this historic first appearance at the Hollywood Bowl has been demixed using the latest AI in 2024. The material separated into multiple tracks such as vocals, chorus, guitar, bass, and drums is reconstructed into an overwhelmingly balanced stereo sound and a mono sound with rich sound pressure. Furthermore, the detailed sound is polished to the utmost by meticulous remastering work. This is the completely original “1964 Hollywood Bowl Live” that was supervised by the label. The many stereo soundboard sound sources that have been on the market so far have been high-quality records worthy of appreciation, but unfortunately, perhaps because they were mixed with the sound reproduction equipment of the 1960s in mind, the tones of all the instruments were narrow-ranged, biased toward the mid-range. In this work, in order to fit modern sound equipment, the tracks separated for each instrument by demixing are each optimally remastered, resulting in a superb sound (stereo and mono) with rich harmonics and an overwhelming range. It’s hard to believe that the first 30 minutes of the album was recorded live more than half a century ago, as the stereo sound source boasts an astonishing sense of separation and positioning of each part. The second 30 minutes of the album is a mono sound source with a vintage feel, with a spectacular mid-low range that approaches as a mass of sound (please listen to this on speakers at full volume, not headphones!). Everyone will be taken aback by the superb sound, which is on a completely different level from any (demixed) stereo or mono sound source that has been on the market until now. This tear-jerking title brings to life the image of the four of them landing for the first time at the Hollywood Bowl, an open-type live venue where you can enjoy direct, superb acoustics with almost no sound wraparound, under the piercing blue California sky! In this era when IEMs (in-ear monitors) do not exist, it is purely amazing that they were able to perform such perfect singing and playing, even though they were buried in the rumbling cheers of Beatlemania and corrections and could not hear their own performance at all. This is the definitive title of the 1964 US tour that shook North America. Recorded Live at the Hollywood Bowl, Los Angeles, CA 23rd August 1964 [2024 Demix & Remaster Edition ] [DEMIX STEREO] 01.
