Description

This work, which is a continuation of the 1965 American tour, starts with the Metropolitan Stadium performance recorded by the audience. The sound quality is OK, but still listenable enough. What is most surprising is the valuable document that the show started without “Twist And Shout” in consideration of John’s voice, which had deteriorated due to Sam Houston. In addition, the secret to this sound source being that it was recorded in an American-style excitement but not covered in screams, which makes it surprisingly listenable. Fortunately, there was a time off after this, so John recovered. The Hollywood Bowl, which spans two discs, will shout as if nothing happened. Needless to say, Hollywood Bowl is a sound source that was officially recorded for the official live album, so the sound quality is the best stereo sound board. Five years ago, the recording at the Hollywood Bowl was fine, and an official CD was released, but it is basically a mixture with the 1964 version, and each complete version can still only be heard on these items. What’s more, during the recording on August 29th, Paul’s microphone was not working for the first three songs, and his song “She’s A Woman” fell into almost an instrumental state, an incident that would never be released officially. The fact that it has been recorded is still valuable. The next recording on the second disc is the Cow Palace performance on the final day of the American tour. The first show is a soundboard recording, but it is fragmentary because it is based on the audio of the news film. The second show is a fragment of the performance that can barely be heard in the background of the announcer reporting during the performance, and these are for advanced enthusiasts. Rather, what is important is the audio that was edited for the Shea Stadium movie that was recorded at the end. When compared to the original soundboard of “SHEAKEN NOT STIRRED”, the lack of realism was compensated for by the cheers of the Hollywood Bowl, and even “I Feel Fine” and “Help!”, which had recording problems, were made up for. It is clear that measures were taken to re-record from scratch, and in the end, cover the interview with “A Hard Day’s Night” to hide the roughness of the recording.
