Description
CD “MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR VHS SOUNDTRACK” which contains the audio of the 1988 video of the movie “MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR”. Unlike other Beatles movies, “MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR” was released as a video software, perhaps because it was intended for television broadcasting, and in the early 1980s it was released exclusively in Japan (in addition, the image quality was poor and it was expensive). There was a time when video existed. For this reason, when the video was released in 1988 with Apple’s help, enthusiasts around the world welcomed it with open arms. But that’s not all, the audio was remixed using the digital technology of the time. It seems that the complex “I Am The Walrus” was left untouched, but some songs were mixed with dramatically different images. After all, the song “Magical Mystery Tour” that plays at the opening was different from the previous version, and I was surprised by the dull sound of percussion coming from the right side. Also, the album with the same name as the movie had a mix where the vocals tended to be pushed to one side, reflecting the 1960s era, but here we have taken into consideration how they would be played on TV, such as “Your Mother Should Know” and “Blue”. It was also refreshing that the vocals of “Jay Way” were placed in the center. The audio of this 1988 video version has been turned into a CD by Remasters Workshop, a company familiar to enthusiasts. You can enjoy it in a very clean and clear state, but for some reason, when it was released, the left and right channels were reversed, so this time I adjusted it to an accurate localization. This title not only includes Beatles songs, but also the movie itself, so lines from the movie will also appear. In the era of LP boot, when there was no video, items containing entire movies were released, but this is like a CD version of that, and it will make you feel nostalgic. What’s more, the remix done in 1988 was used for songs like “Jessie’s Dream” that were played during movie scenes, and the original audio for the 1967 TV broadcast was entirely monaural. On the other hand, I am reminded that careful stereo remix work was done at the time of its release in 1988. And above all, the mix is completely different from the 2012 version of the stereo audio that will be released on “MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR SONGTRACK” this time, and it is a maniac CD where you can enjoy the different mix even for parts other than Beatles songs. Besides, the sound quality is the clearest. Magical Mystery Tour VHS Soundtrack(52:31) 01. Magical Mystery Tour 02. Richard B. Starkey And His Aunt Jessica 03. “Who Is That Man” / “My Lucky Day” 04.
