Description

The Get Back session, which was interrupted due to George’s departure from the Beatles, was about to be disbanded at Twickenham, but it was decided to continue after some discussion. Instead, they moved from Twickenham, which had an unpopular reputation for being too spacious and cold, to Apple Studio in the foreground, and decided to switch plans to a full-fledged recording session. The session suddenly improved due to the appearance of Billy Preston at such a timing, but even during such intervals, cover songs were still being played, and the entire movie was captured by the film crew. Interestingly, due to the change in studio and plans, we are now able to play cover songs more vigorously. The cover of “New Orleans” (Gary US Bonds) on the 22nd was such a passionate performance that I could tell at first glance, and I was keenly aware that this kind of excitement was what was missing at Twickenham. Personally, I also love Twickenham’s loose playing). By the way, the film team’s master tape for this song has been lost, and the sound quality is inferior to the other parts. It wouldn’t be surprising if some people were excited to find “Help” and “Please Please Me” in the list of songs played by the Beatles at the Get Back Sessions. However, these were just songs that John playfully sang in between the sessions on the 23rd, in a relaxed voice. However, most of the cover songs played by the Beatles in the Get Back session are at this level. However, on the 24th, when George was trying to play the bass part of “Two Of Us” on the guitar, there was a scene where Paul hummed the Beach Boys’ “You’re So Good To Me”. Although it is short, it can be said to be extremely valuable. As mentioned in the Twickenham edition, this free gift CD-R is a collection of short but interesting performances. Interesting things like “Fireball Rock” performed by the Beatles, another take of “Get Back” on the 27th where Paul tried to include a Japanese name, and the heated Buddy Holly medley on the 29th. There are many rare performances that enthusiasts should listen to at least once. “Rip It Up – Shake, Rattle And Roll” and “You Really Got A Hold On Me” from the 26th, which were included in the movie “LET IT BE”, are also included in unedited versions. During this process, George threw away the wah-wah pedal he had been using at Twickenham and replaced it with a Leslie speaker, resulting in a major change in the sound. These performances are connected throughout for easy listening, so please try it together with the Twickenham version released at the same time. The jacket is also easy to understand with the (lol) black Twickenham and (refreshing) white Apple Studio! Apple Studios, London, UK 21st-31st January 1969 (69:27) 21st January 1. Daydream 2.
