Beatles Anthology 3 30th Anniversary New Masters Edition

The Beatles Anthology, the culmination of the 20th century’s greatest musical legacy, traces the history of The Beatles from their origins to their breakup through rare recordings. This newly edited, expanded, and revised 30th Anniversary Edition features newly remixed and unearthed recordings, along with newly mastered tracks. The Beatles Anthology Project, a long-planned project that chronicles The Beatles’ history from their beginnings to their breakup, was released in 1995 as a trilogy of rare albums, books, and video works, attracting the attention of Beatles fans worldwide. The trilogy of albums chronicles the band’s history from pre-debut to their breakup, featuring previously unreleased studio outtakes, TV recordings, and live concert recordings. The project also features two new songs, “Free as a Bird” and “Real Love,” based on recordings left behind by John Lennon. The final new track in the trilogy, “Now and Then,” remained unreleased at the time, but was finally released in 2023 for the first time in 27 years. It still garnered attention as “The Beatles’ final new song.” Unreleased Beatles songs were previously planned for release on the album “Sessions,” but were shelved. Unofficially released in the 1980s on albums like “Ultra Rare Tracks” and “Understanding Past Masters,” this “Anthology” project, a trilogy of albums and a video, garnered attention at the time as a culmination of previously unreleased audio and video material. However, the “Anthology” project is a carefully curated collection, and there are still many unreleased recordings from Abbey Road Studios and live recordings and video footage from around the world, many of which are still unreleased. Future releases, including new discoveries, are anticipated. Anthology 3: Anniversary Edition This 30th Anniversary Edition of Anthology 3 features a newly edited and expanded version of all 83 tracks, including numerous unreleased tracks from the 1996 original, including outtakes, demos, TV shows, and live performances. The sound quality is improved compared to the original, and the album features uncut editing and AI-edited demixing, converting mono to true stereo. The album is also completely updated and remastered, including newly discovered and previously unreleased tracks. Anthology 3 spans the 1968 White Album sessions, the January 1969 Get Back sessions, the final recording of Abbey Road, the 1995 Paul, George, and Ringo reunion, and the still-unreleased “Grow Old With Me,” as well as “Now and Then,” a track that was initially postponed until 2023. Like the original, Disc 1 features a significantly expanded selection of White Album-related material. The acoustic “Esher Demos,” previously featured in their entirety on the 2018 Deluxe Edition, are now remixed from multitrack sources. Also included are previously unreleased session material, as well as recordings from David Frost’s TV studio live performances and Rock & Roll Circus. Additionally, the “Get Back Sessions” and “Abbey Road”-related material are presented in a completely new stereo mix. New tracks, including “Goodbye” and “Here Comes the Sun,” are also newly added. Finally, the disc features a reunion session featuring Paul, George, and Ringo, later released as part of the Anthology project. The previously unreleased “Grow Old With Me” and the supposed final new song, “Now and Then,” are presented in a completely unreleased version, featuring John’s chorus, different from the final version. Both tracks are newly remixed with John’s vocals cleaned up to be even more realistic and the performance itself has been improved in quality. These new versions are sure to evoke new emotions as the best remixes. This 30th anniversary edition features new masters for all tracks, including newly discovered and never-before-seen recordings.
