Description

This work records the “Edinburgh performance on March 6, 1987”. It is the best audience recording. At that time, BAD COMPANY had just re-vibrated with Brian Howe. Here, let’s check the position of the show from the BAD COMPANY perspective. 1986 “FAME AND FORTUNE” released on October 22nd October 28th – December 13th: North America #1 (16 performances) 1987 January 31st – March 8th: Europe #1 (24 performances) ←★Here★ April 24th – June 27th: North America #2 (27 performances) July 11th – 19th: Europe #2 (3 performances) This is BAD COMPANY in 1986/1987. BAD COMPANY in the Howe era also achieved success with the big hit “HOLY WATER”, but at this point they were still just starting out. They served as opening acts for various bands. Among them, “Europe #1” was the opening act for BAD COMPANY. The Edinburgh performance of this work was the 22nd concert. This work, which recorded such a show, is a superb audience recording by the same person as the main DEEP PURPLE edition. I will avoid repeating it, but it is still a high-quality sound that is not half-baked. The sound depicts the fresh stage of the new BAD COMPANY, which has just restarted. The set is a balance of two classic songs, “Feel Like Makin’ Love” and “Can’t Get Enough”, and four new songs from “FAME AND FORTUNE”, “Fame and Fortune”, “If I’m Sleeping”, “Valerie”, and “Tell It Like It Is”. And the delicious new songs. Speaking of the Howe era live, the official work “WHAT YOU HEAR IS WHAT YOU GET” comes to mind, but although the two classic songs are duplicated, none of the four new songs are included. And the fresh performance that spells such a set is wonderful. In one word, it’s “like FOREIGNER”. This was a description often used in RAINBOW during the Joe Lynn Turner era, but Howe’s voice quality, range, and style are far more Lou Gramm-like. The two classics are as fresh as if Lou had joined BAD COMPANY. BAD COMPANY has become younger by adding a really young singer, as opposed to the main DEEP PURPLE, which showed a rejuvenated performance. Perhaps it was the opening act that brought out Purple’s passionate performance. This live album allows you to enjoy such a fresh show with the same superb sound as the main show. Playhouse Theatre, Edinburgh, Scotland 6th March 1987 ULTIMATE SOUND (32:51) 1. Fame and Fortune 2. If I’m Sleeping 3. Feel Like Makin’ Love 4. Valerie 5. Can’t Get Enough 6.
