BAD COMPANY has announced that they will be producing their first new work since “ROUGH DIAMONDS” and is suddenly attracting attention. A spectacular video that allows you to witness their latest show has been decided to be released. This work was filmed at the “Springfield performance on August 10, 2019.” This is the spectacular audience shot. Last year, Paul Rodgers toured with both solo and BAD COMPANY, but this year it was only BAD CAN. First of all, let’s check the show’s position from the overall picture.・January 19th + February 22nd + March 23rd: North America #1 (3 performances) ・May 17th – June 8th: North America #2 (6 performances) ・July 6th – September 1st: North America #3 (13 performances) ←★Here★ ・September 20-27: North America #4 (3 performances) ・October 18 + November 9: North America #5 (2 performances) This is the schedule for 2019. Paul said, “I want to limit this year’s live performances to only 20 before going into the studio,” but they’re already over schedule. I hope you don’t forget your desire for new work. In any case, the Springfield performance of this work is the 8th concert of “North America #3”. This is a scene from when they performed at the traditional American music festival “ILLINOIS STATE FAIR”. “ILLINOIS STATE FAIR” is a festival with a long history of 166 years, starting in 1853, and this year it will be held for 10 days from August 13th to 23rd. In recent years, a decline in mobilization has been seen as a problem, but this year the situation has completely changed. It was a huge success, attracting 509,000 people and setting a new revenue record. This film, shot at such a festival, is truly a spectacular sight. The photo was taken from the second-floor stand seat, which is slightly to the right, but it’s probably near the front of the stand, with almost no obstructions (sometimes people cross, so perhaps it’s an aisle seat?). This is an angle where only the stage occupies the wide field of view. Of course, there is an undeniable distance due to the stand seats, but the bold zoom offsets that. If you pull back as hard as you can, you can see that it’s a certain distance, but when you approach it from there, Paul’s bust-up fills the screen, and you can clearly see Simon Kirk’s passionate expression on the other side of the drum kit. Moreover, the image quality is so beautiful even when zoomed in that much that you will forget that you are shooting with a stand… It is a beautiful video that clearly shows off the power of the latest digital equipment. Furthermore, the sense of stability is outstanding. Although I was relatively active and repeatedly zoomed in and out, there was no noticeable camera shake. Whether you’re using an old-fashioned handrail or a selfie stick with a gyro, you’ll be able to fully immerse yourself in the flavor of blues rock with a crisp and stable screen. And the sound. Although you can’t help but feel the distance, the core that runs through the space is strong, and the open feeling of the outdoor stage set up in the city has little echo and the details are clear. Since the stands are on the second floor, you can look down on the audience on the first floor, but the chanting also has a three-dimensional effect that makes it look like steam rising, and does not block the performance or singing voices. It is a realistic clear sound that is suitable for the spectacular scenery. A show drawn with such quality is a little different from the usual greatest hits… Let’s organize the contents here. ●BAD COMPANY (5 songs) ・Can’t Get Enough, Movin’ On, Seagull, Ready for Love, Bad Company ●STRAIGHT SHOOTER (2 songs) ・Feel Like Makin’ Love, Shooting Star ●RUN WITH THE PACK (2 songs) )・Live for the Music, Young Blood ●DESOLATION ANGELS (2 songs)・Gone, Gone, Gone, Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy ●Others (3 songs)・All Because of You (ALL BECAUSE OF YOU), All Along the Watchtower (Bob Dylan), All Right Now (FIRE AND WATER)… and so on. Although the style of rush of classic songs centered around the debut work is the same as usual, what is a little different is the “other” part. The title song from Simon’s solo album “ALL BECAUSE OF YOU” released in 2017 will be featured, as well as a cover of Bob Dylan’s “All Along the Watchtower.” In the former, Simon comes to the front of the stage and sings, while in the latter Howard Rees sings in a band style. Both repertoires were shown for the first time on this year’s tour, and they breathe new life into a show that is all too familiar. However, the essence of this work is still Paul’s singing voice. Even the phrase “you don’t feel your age” has been repeated for decades, and it’s no surprise that it remains unchanged, but it’s still amazing to see it in person. The firmness, gloss, and subtle control are perfect, and it looks youthful. I can’t believe this is the voice of a person who will reach the 70’s mark by the end of this year. Boz Burrell has already passed away, and BAD COMPANY can’t hope for the return of Mick Ralphs, who suffered a stroke. However, the two allies from FREE are still alive and shining so brightly that even the word “Kanro” doesn’t suit them. This is a superb video that allows you to experience “Badkan now” from a scenic seat. This is the pinnacle of blues rock that is eternally rich and unchanging even today.
