Description

Formed by Paul Kossoff after the breakup of Free in 1975, the band released their first album, “The Band Plays On,” in the same year. Among the live shows they performed during their short period of activity after that, the band’s UK tour that year included a performance at the Carsal Ballroom in Southend on May 31st and a performance at Newcastle’s City Hall on November 27th, both of which were recorded from audience master tapes that were in fairly good condition for the time. The first half of the Southend performance in particular is one of the few recordings available, and is a must-listen item that allows you to fully enjoy Kossoff’s specialty, weeping guitar, from the songs on the first album to the familiar “The Hunter” from his Free days.
