Avishai Cohen Trio Avishai Cohen/Switzerland 2024 & more

Avishai Cohen, a bassist and singer who is a leader in the contemporary jazz world, appeared at two jazz festivals, one in Switzerland on October 24, 2024, and the other in Leverkusen, Germany on November 3, 2024. Both performances are recorded in stereo soundboard format from the FM broadcast master, lasting about 70 minutes each. The first performance was held just after his second appearance at Blue Note Tokyo in October of the same year, and featured the strongest regular trio, including drummer Roni Caspi, whose dynamic and energetic playing was a hot topic, and rising star pianist Guy Moscovici, who has outstanding harmony and technique. The set composition for both performances was almost the same, but he also performed songs from his new album, Bright Light, and his bass playing on songs such as “THE EVER AND EVER EVOLVING ETUDE” was particularly impressive. Another charm of this trio is Avishai’s exotic vocals. Avishai has inherited tradition while exploring new musical worlds and expanding the possibilities of jazz, and this album is a must-listen for jazz piano fans who have high hopes for the future of Avishai.
