From the unreleased live performance of Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers, which has hardly been distributed until now, the performance by two bands at the “Chicago Jazz Festival” on September 5, 1987, both for broadcast. First, disc:1 features performances by young members of the New Traditional School, such as Warren Rooney, Benny Green, and Peter Washington. On disc:2, there is a band called Reunion Jazz Messengers, with members including Woody Shaw, Bill Hartman, Benny Golson, Walter Davis Jr., and Reggie Workman.
