In 1981, after the breakup of Ten Years After, Alvin Lee embarked on a European tour with the release of his solo album “RX-5”. And from the precious live performance in which Mick Taylor also accompanied the band, the performance in Milan, Italy on October 28th was recorded in full from a high-quality audience master with astonishing quality at the time. Anyway, the two guitars were separated and even subtle contrasts could be clearly heard, exactly due to the soundboard level. While the main focus was on the repertoire of Alvin Lee’s band, the blues numbers featured Taylor’s unique tasteful playing, and especially the R&R covers and blues numbers before and after the encore featured plenty of heated guitar battles between the two.
