Description
This compilation features the Allmans’ 1993 US tour, which saw them reunite with new members. This recording combines the May 25th show at Los Angeles’ Greek Theater with the May 26th show in Santa Barbara, both of which were unearthed through a recent leak of stereo soundboard masters. Like the previous year’s live tour recordings recently released online, this recording was recorded directly from the DAT master tapes recorded by staff at the time. While some cuts are present, it includes nearly the entire concert. The original lineup of Gregg Allman, Dickey Betts, and Butch Trucks was joined by Warren Haynes and Allen Woody in 1989, showcasing an even more scaled-up performance, featuring plenty of classic ’70s hits. The Santa Barbara performance also boasts a larger number of songs than usual, and “Southbound” features guest appearances by Seymour Duncan, the founder of a renowned guitar pickup manufacturer. This is a must-listen for fans of the band’s past. DISC 1 : 1. Hot ‘Lanta/2. Statesboro Blues/3. All Night Train/4. Blue Sky/5. The Same Thing/6. Temptation Is A Gun/7. Nobody Knows/8.
