Description

With the death of Gregg Allman at the age of 69 in May 2017, four of the six original Allman Brothers members are now absent, marking another end to the history of Southern Rock. In tribute to Gregg, we present here a CD of Duane’s great performances from his time with the band. This CD contains 65 minutes of master quality soundboard recordings from the evening show at Fillmore East in New York on February 14, 1970, recorded from Wolfgang’s Vault, owned by Bill Graham. Although an early show from three days earlier was also released, the set list was different, and the 35-minute “Mountain Jam” featured the members’ incredible performance as one, surpassing even “Eat a Peach” in its intensity, making it one of Duane’s great performances. 1. In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed 2. Hoochie Coochie Man 3. I’m Gonna Move To The Outskirts Of Town 4. Whipping Post 5. Mountain Jam [Live at Fillmore East, NYC, NY USA February 14th 1970 Evening Show : soundboard recording] Gregg Allman – organ, vocals / Duane Allman – guitar, slide guitar, vocals / Dickey Betts – guitar, vocals / Berry Oakley – bass, vocals / Butch Trucks – drums / Jai Johanson – drums
