Description
With the death of Gregg Allman at the age of 69 in May 2017, four of the six original Allman Brothers members are no longer with the band, bringing another chapter in the history of Southern Rock to an end. In memory of Gregg, we present here a CD of Duane’s great performances from his time with the band. This CD contains a master quality soundboard recording of an early show at the Fillmore East in New York on February 11, 1970, from the Wolfgang’s Vault owned by Bill Graham. Previously, only two tracks, “Statesboro Blues” and “Trouble No More,” were available, but with the inclusion of the other three tracks, the album is almost complete except for the cut in the middle of “Mountain Jam.” The highlight of the album is the over 30-minute long “Mountain Jam,” which takes a different approach to “Eat a Peach” and is a must-listen. 1.
