“ROCK PALACE 1984”, recorded at a television studio in Los Angeles in early 1984, is now available under the title DVD. The picture quality is stable and the sound is ultra clear. Pro-shot live footage of the early Alcatraz with a young Yngwie is very limited except for the video footage of the Japanese performance, and this album only contains three songs with the intro and outro of the TV host that was broadcast on the program at the time, but the quality is excellent and it is definitely a must-have for all fans. The super-fast playing of the young Yngwie, with his bare upper body and black jacket, and his boyish physique, creates the best highlight of every song. Yngwie changes to his favorite tiger-print jacket for the next Hiroshima Mon Amour and Island In The Sun. It’s fun to see Graham make a huge mistake in the entrance to the second verse of Too Young To Die, Too Drunk To Live, but Graham’s passionate singing after that is amazing! However, perhaps due to poor monitor feedback, Graham seems to have difficulty hitting the high notes. Still, Graham is the only one who can match or even surpass Yngwie’s guitar, and all three songs are well worth watching. The bonus track includes a performance in Pittsburgh on July 21, 1985, under the name Rising Force. Vocals by Jeff Scott Soto. Although it is footage of a club audience, the image quality is clear and the sound is very good, so you can enjoy the precious overseas performances of this period without stress. The camera captures Yngwie’s heroic figure as he performs a series of superb plays with flashy actions from a great angle, and there are many great scenes that fans must see. A recommended album!!
