Description

A special performance “December 19, 1994 Boston performance” featuring a large number of 70’s numbers that was realized during the GEFFEN period at its peak. The ultimate version of that classic stereo sound board is now available. This show can truly be called a legend. Speaking of AEROSMITH at the time, all three consecutive works from “PERMANENT VACATION” were monster hits, and “GET A GRIP” achieved the long-awaited No. 1 in the United States. They achieved a miraculous revival that is unparalleled in the rock world, and reached their greatest peak in history. However, from an old fan’s point of view, while they were happy to see the band’s revival, they were also left feeling frustrated by the number of pop songs and ballad hits that made them think, “This is different…”. Whether or not they knew about such fan psychology, they held a special show where they played a lot of 70’s numbers. [Broadcasting station master who updates the top of the classic soundboard] The show was held in his hometown Boston on the final day of “GET A GRIP TOUR”. It was so special that it was broadcast live, and the FM sound board has produced a number of previous episodes. This work is not a remastered reproduction of that… The highest peak version discovered only recently. It is a DAT master produced by the broadcasting station, and is a pre-FM version copied directly from the original sound board’s multi-track. The length and quality of its contents are overwhelming. First of all, regarding the length, it includes the DJ intro and outro before the show, which were not heard even in the previously released version, which has been considered a “complete version,” as well as interviews with Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, and Peter Wolfe who was at the venue. It is completely recorded. This is probably an edit for rebroadcasting rather than a live broadcast version, but the mood of the heyday and the enthusiasm for the world tour Chiakiraku are conveyed even more realistically. Of course, the sound is also top notch. The quality of the previous releases varied, and the good ones were completely official. For that reason, I cannot say that it is completely different, but there is no doubt that this work is the best. In fact, there are pre-FM masters available on the internet, but even with that, there were some sound dropouts and noise in “Cryin'”, and the left and right stereo feeling was distorted. In contrast, this work is completely noiseless, and the stereo feeling is exactly as it was on the scene. It is a pinnacle work that is unparalleled even when compared to all previous releases and internet sound sources. [A very special show that passionately spins the 70’s repertoire] As mentioned above, the quality is drawn to a parade of 70’s numbers. However, it is not just the greatest hits of the past either. Let’s organize the set here to see how special and delicious the show is. ●AEROSMITH (3 songs)・Walkin’ the Dog, One Way Street, Mama Kin ●GET YOUR WINGS (2 songs)・Train Kept a Rollin’, Same Old Song and Dance ●TOYS IN THE ATTIC (3 songs)・Big Ten Inch Record, Walk This Way, Toys in the Attic ●Other classics・Last Child (ROCKS), Milk Cow Blues (DRAW THE LINE), Chip Away the Stone (LIVE! BOOTLEG)・Cover: Rattlesnake Shake, Stop Messin’ Around, I’m Not Talkin’ ●Since the 80’s – Let the Music Do the Talking (DONE WITH MIRRORS), Cryin’ (GET A GRIP), Walk on Water (BIG ONES)… and so on. “Cryin'” and “Walk on Water”, a new song before its release (and it was also the last one on that day), are also played, so it’s not entirely limited to classical music, but it’s mostly from the 70’s repertoire and vintage music. There are many covers. It’s such a rich classics attack that I think it would have been better if “Cryin'” was also removed. Moreover, not only the structure but also each song is fresh. Classics such as “Dream On”, “Sweet Emotion”, “Draw the Line”, and “Back in the Saddle” are avoided, and songs like “Chip Away the Stone” for the first time in a while and “Rattlesnake Shake” for the first time in 17 years are only recorded at that time. Songs like “I’m Not Talkin'” are sprinkled throughout. It is a special show that is more than just a nostalgic melody. Furthermore, AEROSMITH himself, who plays such a set, is also amazing. The undulating beat explodes, and the groove is mellow. Of course, Stephen’s singing style is the same as after his revival, and compared to the recordings from the 70’s, it is a little different from the dangerous and young energy. However, the momentum they had at their peak when they conquered the entire globe and the heat that was unique to their home base more than made up for it. A hot show that truly embodies the essence of rock is reviving the golden classics. AEROSMITH became a giant monster and conquered the 90s. This is a super masterpiece of a soundboard album where you can enjoy the special performance realized at the moment of its climax in official quality. This is the pinnacle of a live album that renews the pinnacle of the standard, pushing the famous songs of the 70’s with the dignity of a champion.
