Description
This release captures a nearly complete 1-hour-and-50-minute performance from the “Josephine County Fair” in Oregon on August 17—part of the US tour that marked the band’s relaunch with a new lineup featuring former Hurricane vocalist Kelly Hansen, Dokken bassist Jeff Pilson, and drummer Jason Bonham. The audio is a stereo soundboard recording—sourced from a direct feed from the mixing console and leaked by a crew member—that delivers raw, high-impact sound; while there are minor cuts and it lacks some of the ambient atmosphere of a live audience recording, it remains completely unprocessed and unedited. The setlist is a true “greatest hits” collection, drawing heavily from the 70s (especially the debut album) while also covering material from the 80s and beyond. Although an official live album from this same tour period exists (*Live in ’05*), this recording includes four tracks—such as “Long, Long Way From Home” and “At War With The World”—that are unavailable elsewhere; notably, the inclusion of a full performance of Led Zeppelin’s “Misty Mountain Hop” (featuring Jason Bonham on drums) makes this a must-listen for Zeppelin fans as well.
