Description
A new definitive edition has arrived—an upgraded version of one of the finest recordings from the “Wish You Were Here” tour. We have meticulously remastered the “best master” source, which has already received the seal of approval from specialist sites. This release sets a new benchmark for sound quality across three CDs. The performance captured here is the Seattle show from April 10, 1975—featuring a truly superb audience recording. We have been archiving Pink Floyd’s entire history through the best available recordings, and the “Wish You Were Here” tour is no exception. To put this release in context, let’s first look at the band’s activities during that period: <Jan 13: *Wish You Were Here* production begins> • Apr 8–21: North America #1 (8 shows) ← ★Here★ • Apr 23–27: Los Angeles (5 shows) ← *Ultimate Millard* • Jun 7–28: North America #2 (15 shows) ← *Boston 1975*, etc. • Jul 5: *Knebworth 1975 Complete* <Sep 12: *Wish You Were Here* released>. This is the ultimate version—a polished-up take on the “best master” recognized by experts; this is Pink Floyd in 1975. The Seattle concert featured here was the second show of the “Wish You Were Here” tour. The show is famous, above all, for the exceptional recording that captured it. While only one source recording has ever surfaced, it has become a classic that has undergone repeated upgrades over the years as different generations and transfer paths emerged. This release continues that tradition while establishing a new pinnacle of sound quality. The previous gold standard was the master released by the renowned “JEMS” group—familiar to fans through titles like *Definitive Seattle 1975*—but this release utilizes a CDR source that predates the JEMS transfer by a long margin; it comes from the master used for the series known as “Reeling In Pink Floyd.” Thanks to digitization performed before the magnetic tape could deteriorate further, this source actually boasts superior sound quality compared to the “JEMS transfer.” This release is a revised version based on the “Reeling in Seattle” remaster—which itself utilized that vintage source material. Here, the label “Graf Zeppelin” has further polished that definitive master. Through a painstaking mastering process, they have created a unique live album that sets a new pinnacle of quality. The craftsmanship is meticulous, as always. By properly removing the hum noise that plagued this source, the overall sound has become clean and transparent; additionally, adjustments to the mid-to-high frequencies have significantly improved the clarity and definition of the sound. Consequently, the “Reeling in Seattle” master—already highly acclaimed—has been revitalized, sounding more natural and vibrant than ever. It is truly a superlative release. The sound captures a renowned, tight performance from the “Wish You Were Here” tour. 1975 marked a period when Pink Floyd was transforming from their earlier, atmospheric sound into a harder, more robust band, and the Seattle show perfectly captures this evolution. The vocals are impassioned, and the playing is tight and incredibly cool. The setlist comprises new songs from the album then in production, *Wish You Were Here* (Disc 1), and the entirety of the previous album, *The Dark Side of the Moon* (Disc 2); this release allows you to fully enjoy the complete two-and-a-half-hour show, culminating in the epic encore, “Echoes” (Disc 3). While the setlist is familiar to fans, the band’s focus is remarkable—perhaps because this was only the second show of the tour. In particular, the closing track, “Eclipse,” is a must-listen; it delivers a moving finale where soaring vocals and backing harmonies blend into one. Among the many versions derived from the original master tape, the “Reeling in Seattle” master is renowned as the best available to date. Now, the “Graf Zeppelin” label has refined it through meticulous mastering, creating the definitive edition of this Seattle performance. It is a “cultural heritage” album that allows you to experience the tight, masterful performance of the “Wish You Were Here” tour—which saw the band shift toward a harder rock sound—as if you were there. This is a superb, top-tier audience recording of the April 10, 1975, Seattle show. It utilizes the “Reeling in Seattle” master—praised as the “best” by the specialized overseas site *Raving and Drooling*—offering sound quality that surpasses the traditional JEMS-derived versions. Graf Zeppelin further enhanced the audio by removing hum noise and correcting the mid-to-high frequencies, resulting in a clear, natural sound that sets a new benchmark for this recording. It is a new “cultural heritage” album that lets you experience—for approximately two and a half hours—the tight, masterful performance of a Pink Floyd that had evolved into a harder-edged rock act. Seattle Center Coliseum, Seattle, WA, USA – April 10, 1975. ULTIMATE SOUND UPGRADE!!! REMASTERED. We have remastered the “Reeling in Seattle” source, which is highly acclaimed on overseas specialist sites as the best version currently available! While—like previous releases—this is a digital transfer from the master tape, its lineage differs from versions such as the JEMS release. By properly removing the hum noise—a chronic issue with this recording—we have achieved a clean, crisp sound. The audio was mixed to mono at the time of its original release (as it was recorded in mono), so there are no phase-shift issues! Additionally, EQ processing has been applied to correct the mid-to-high frequencies, resulting in a sound with greater clarity and definition. It is also a rare treat to hear the sound effects (SE) played at the very beginning of the concert, prior to the start of “Raving and Drooling”! Disc 1 (63:44) 1. Intro.
