This 1-hour recording captures Avishai Cohen, a leading bassist and singer in the contemporary jazz scene, at the London Jazz Festival held in the UK on November 24, 2018. The recording uses a stereo soundboard source from an FM broadcast master, further enhanced with the latest 2026 remastering for official quality. This year marked the 10th anniversary of the release of his renowned album, “Gently Disturbed,” and the performance recreated tracks from that album. Cohen performed album numbers with his trio, consisting of Shai Maestro and Mark Guiliana, who were also recording members at the time and are now successful leaders themselves. In addition, they performed “The Ever and Ever Evolving Etude,” which would later be included on “Bright Light,” showcasing his breathtaking bass playing, as well as his exotic vocals, which can be heard throughout the performance, making this trio’s performance truly captivating.
