Description
Speaking of Bruce Springsteen’s vintage live sound sources recently, the audience recording upper version of the Wallingford performance on April 10, 1976 has appeared. On this day, the trade title “WALK SOFTLY TONIGHT” had been circulating for some time, and it was evaluated among enthusiasts as having quite good sound quality. However, on July 4th, as if to celebrate America’s Independence Day, an upper version suddenly appeared on the familiar dime. The person who released it was the familiar JEMS. “WALK SOFTLY TONIGHT” was a reference to the first generation, but this time the sound quality has been significantly improved by recording from the master tape! is what they said. However, “WALK SOFTLY ~” was also a copy that falls into the so-called low generation category, so isn’t that enough? This version greatly surprised the enthusiasts. The muffled sound and bass distortion that were present in “WALK SOFTLY~” were wiped out, and the song was instantly refreshed and reborn into a state that was truly easy to listen to. Even with the title of Bruce’s first performance in Japan, which will be released on CD this time, there is a situation where the master who obtained our own copy of the second generation that is circulating overseas is being scoffed at. After all, recording from the “master” is really important. With this great achievement, the sound quality, which was originally excellent, has further evolved to a clearly excellent level. However, there was one major drawback, and the low pitch, which had been a problem since the “WALK SOFTLY~” era, was just as bad this time as well. This is a waste even though the sound quality has significantly improved. Therefore, adjust the pitch properly. As a result, it has finally been reborn to a state where it is easier to listen to and has no complaints. Although the sound image is a little distant, the recording is so clear and fresh. However, at this time there were excellent sound sources all over the place…March 28th: Durham performance (first ever “BORN TO RUN” complete performance & superb audience) → “FRANKIE GOES TO CLEVELAND” Disc-3 & 4 recording 4 April 4th: East Lansing performance (second existing “BORN TO RUN” complete performance & superb audience) → Crystal Cat label “EAST LANSING NIGHT” released April 7th: First day of Cleveland performance (soundboard recording) → “FRANKIE GOES TO CLEVELAND” Disc-1 & 2 included April 8: First day of Cleveland performance (incomplete soundboard recording) → What do you think of “FRANKIE GOES TO CLEVELAND” and “FRANKIE GOES TO CLEVELAND VOL.2”? The sound source is too good (lol). Among them, “FRANKIE GOES TO CLEVELAND” is a masterpiece that represents this tour. Not only that, but all of these sources play some kind of rare song. On the other hand, Wallingford is just a normal day, and you can barely hear the unreleased song “Frankie” that was played only on this tour. No matter how good the sound quality is, and even if the performance is overflowing with the lightness typical of this period…it’s just not right. However, it is also true that we would like enthusiasts to listen to the outstanding quality recorded from the master tape. We will release this latest upper version sound source. And, as I mentioned earlier, the biggest problem, the slow pitch, has been adjusted, and the ease of listening is at the highest level.
