This release features a recording from the June 8th show in Long Beach, California, during the North American tour accompanying the release of 1978’s “Running on Empty,” using a soundboard recording leaked by someone involved at the time. This is a soundboard recording directly from the mixing console, recently released by staff from that era. While it lacks some of the live atmosphere and the first half of the acoustic set with David Lindley is not included, it is completely unprocessed and unedited, so the vocals, guitars, and keyboards sound realistic and live, and the subtle band ensemble is conveyed directly. The band’s full lineup, from “Doctor My Eyes” onwards, is fully recorded for 56 minutes until the end.
