Description
We’ve obtained a superb stereo audience master of the Milwaukee performance from the second leg of Eric Clapton’s 2010 American tour, never before seen! Once again, we’re releasing an astonishing, never-before-seen master from a new overseas network that has recently gained a strong reputation for its rare Eric Clapton recordings! This title is a complete recording of Clapton’s performance at the Milwaukee Summerfest on June 28th, immediately after his appearance at the 3rd Crossroads Guitar Festival, from the second leg of his 2010 American tour, captured in excellent stereo audience quality. This recording has never been released before, making this the first ever release of this material, so it’s definitely worth paying attention to. And what we must emphasize most is that the master for this release is a superb stereo audience recording. Moreover, it’s a straight, complete recording with no breaks between songs. The band’s music and vocals are captured perfectly. It’s truly superb sound quality. This year was one of the most fulfilling in Clapton’s career in terms of live performances. He toured with old friends Jeff Beck and Steve Winwood, and also hosted his own “Crossroads Guitar Festival.” It was a busy year, but a fruitful one, as he succeeded in everything. Moreover, this solo tour featured Clapton on guitar alone. He approached the tour with the resolve to shoulder all the guitar work himself. As such, Clapton’s playing on this album is tremendous throughout. Please look forward to it. Incidentally, organist Walt Richmond was a band member of J.J. Cale, whom Clapton greatly admired. Although he couldn’t bring J.J. himself along, he did bring along the band members. This shows how much Clapton admired J.J. Cale. The first recording capturing his top-notch solo tour in 2010! So let’s take a look back at Clapton’s activities that year. – February 13th & 14th: Joint concert with Jeff Beck at the O2 Arena in London – February 16th: Performed at the “Plastic Ono Band 40th Anniversary Concert” at the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House in New York, sharing the stage with Yoko Ono and Sean Lennon – February 18th-22nd: Short American tour with Jeff Beck – February 25th-March 13th: American tour with his own band (first leg) – May 18th-June 13th: Joint European tour with Steve Winwood – June 26th: Held the 3rd Crossroads Guitar Festival at Toyota Park in Illinois – June 28th-July 3rd: Short American tour with his own band (second leg) ←★HERE★ <<September 27: Album “CLAPTON” released>> October 23: Performed at a charity concert for former US President Clinton’s fund at St. John the Divine Church in New York November 2: Appeared on the music live program “Later with Jules Holland” at the BBC Studios in London November 17: Performed at the “Princes Trust” concert held at the Royal Albert Hall in London December 31: Held the annual “New Year’s Eve Dance” in Woking, Surrey, England Looking at this, it is clear that Clapton was extremely busy from the beginning of the year, touring with Jeff Beck and Steve Winwood, performing at numerous events, hosting his own “Crossroads Guitar Festival,” and producing a studio album. Conversely, this shows just how passionate Clapton was about his work. And Clapton achieved success in all of the activities listed here. At the time, Clapton had reached the senior age of 65, but it’s clear that his vitality hadn’t waned. Furthermore, despite having such major events lined up, he was still diligently carrying out his own leader tour. This film captures the first day of the second leg of his American solo tour. Looking at the setlist, it’s completely different from the first leg in early spring, and is a fascinating setlist packed with rare numbers. The opening has also changed to “Tell the Truth.” Then he pulls out the rare numbers “After Midnight” and “Tough Luck Blues,” and concludes the first half with a whirlwind of “I Shot the Sheriff.” Moving into the acoustic set, he performs “I’ve Got a Rock N Roll Heart,” from the 1983 album “MONEY AND CIGARETTES,” just like in the first leg. This acoustic version is truly heartwarming and well done. This song was only performed live in this year outside of the 1983 tour, so please enjoy it carefully. Furthermore, he even included “When Somebody Thinks You’re Wonderful,” which was originally scheduled for release on September 27th. He maintained this momentum throughout the second half, pushing forward with a superb performance. His solo in “Badge” is aggressive and good, but his killer solo in “Little Queen of Spades” explodes. Solos are passed around to the other members, but Clapton’s final solo to conclude the set is incredible! His solo in “Cocaine” is also brilliant, and the encore performance of “Crossroads” is flawless. This is a superb recording of his 2010 Milwaukee performance, which has never been released anywhere else. The content and quality are such that it can be confidently declared the definitive recording of his American solo tour that year.
