Description
This release features a complete 2-hour and 7-minute recording of the March 3rd show, the ninth of 12 consecutive performances at the Royal Albert Hall in London in 1993, taken from an audience master recently released by a taper. It seems that Clapton was planning to select blues numbers for his album “From the Cradle” during this series of shows, and therefore the setlist includes many rare blues numbers that were not featured on the later “Nothing But the Blues Tour.” Although the setlist remained the same each night, Clapton’s improvisations varied from day to day. In addition, while he employed Little Feat drummer Richie Hayward, the same as for his Japanese tour later that year, it’s worth noting that Donald “Duck” Dunn was brought in on bass specifically for this series. Furthermore, Jimmie Vaughan, who served as the opening act, made a surprise appearance during the encore, and the show ended with “Sweet Home Chicago,” making this another passionate blues night, which is fully recreated here.
