Description

The “DYNASTY Tour” was the final shining moment of the 70s. This most important live album is making a big comeback! The original, longest full soundboard, which you won’t find anywhere else, will be released on 2 CDs! This work permanently preserves the “September 12, 1979 Knoxville Performance.” This is the original soundboard recording. Speaking of the “DYNASTY Tour,” the classic albums “ATLANTA 1979 SOUNDBOARD” and “DEFINITIVE LANDOVER 1979 SOUNDBOARD” are also beloved classics, and together with this work, they form a soundboard trilogy. First, let’s take a bird’s-eye view of the activities at the time and confirm their respective positions. {“DYNASTY” released on May 23} May: Rehearsals begin * June 11 “LAKELAND 1979 REHEARSAL” * June 12 + 13 (tour rehearsal) * June 15-28 (7 performances) * June 30 “ATLANTA 1979 SOUNDBOARD” * July 3-7 (3 performances) * July 8 “DEFINITIVE LANDOVER 1979 SOUNDBOARD” * July 10-September 10 (26 performances) * September 12: Knoxville performance ←★This work★ * September 14-December 16 (40 performances) The shocking original soundboard that shook the whole world This is KISS in 1979. The “DYNASTY Tour” was the last tour with the original four members, but all of the performances were in North America. This Knoxville performance, recorded in this album, is right in the middle of the 38th performance out of a total of 79. It’s later than “ATLANTA 1979” and “DEFINITIVE LANDOVER 1979,” making it the final masterpiece of the Golden Age. This soundboard was also a shocking work that shocked the world. After all, the Knoxville performance was an uncharted live show, with no audience recordings discovered until then, and even the set list unknown. The experience was abruptly realized on a soundboard. Of course, the quality was so exceptional that it shook the world. While “soundboards” vary widely in their individuality, this work is a direct-to-mix mix. Unlike official live albums, which are polished as musical works, or FM broadcasts, which are optimized for home audio, this is an unprocessed mix for on-site PA use. Instead, the rawness is unmatched, revealing every nuance of the live performance’s powerful core. The guitar and bass sounds are so clear you can hear every note, even the angle of the pick hitting the strings. The drums are so clear you can almost see the vibration of the skin and the structure of the kit. Each instrument is beautifully separated with zero sense of space, and even the electromagnetic noise of the amplifiers stands out. This is the longest SBD of the “DYNASTY Tour,” which could be considered a sequel to ALIVE II. In addition to such transcendent sound, the greatest feature of this album is its length. While the other two albums in the soundboard trilogy, “ATLANTA 1979” and “DEFINITIVE LANDOVER 1979,” were both single CDs, this album is a two-disc set clocking in at over 86 minutes. Compare this to the two previous albums and experience the sheer volume of tracks. Before “ALIVE II” (11 songs) ・KISS: Firehouse / Black Diamond ・DESTROYER: King of the Night Time World / God Of Thunder (★) / Shout It Out Loud (★) / Detroit Rock City ・LOVE GUN: Christine Sixteen (★★) / Love Gun ・Other: Let Me Go, Rock ‘n’ Roll (★★) / Calling Dr. Love / Rock And Roll All Nite 1978 and later (4 songs) ・Solo album: Move On / New York Groove ・DYNASTY: I Was Made for Lovin’ You / 2,000 Man (★) *Note: “★” indicates songs that were not available on “ATLANTA 1979 SOUNDBOARD (Zodiac 548).” In particular, “★★” indicates songs that were not available on “DEFINITIVE LANDOVER 1979 SOUNDBOARD (Zodiac 744).” …And so on. While there are documents indicating that “Beth” was also performed that day, it’s not definitively a “full” release. However, since there are no recordings of the original, it’s possible that it wasn’t performed. Regardless, it includes all the other shows, and is significantly longer than “ALIVE!” and “ALIVE II.” It also includes a solid selection of classics from “ALIVE II” and beyond. It features not only the new tracks from “DYNASTY,” but also “Move On” and “New York Groove” from KISS’s 1978 solo albums, performed live by the four original KISS members. It truly is a “continuation of ALIVE II.” While “ALIVE III” wasn’t officially released until the 1990s, this is a truly worthy sequel to the ALIVE series. This stunning two-disc set offers a truly captivating experience of the “DYNASTY Tour,” featuring rare tracks and a truly mind-blowing soundboard experience. This is a soundboard recording of the “September 12, 1979 Knoxville concert.” This masterpiece, reissued from the unearthed original master, is a masterpiece. The liveliness of the direct connection to the mix desk is amazing, and the core of the extremely thick live performance reveals even the subtleties of the subtleties. With a total recording time of over 86 minutes, it is an overwhelming sound board that can be called a sequel to “ALIVE II”, and it is the longest absolute sound board of the “DYNASTY Tour”.
