Introducing “The Complete Christmas Collection – New Masters Edition,” a collection of related recordings centered around The Beatles’ Christmas albums from the 1960s! From 1963 to 1969, The Beatles produced a Christmas record annually and distributed it to fan club members in flexidisc format. While the record primarily contained Christmas messages, the Beatles’ playful spirit also entertained fans each year with parodies and improvisations of familiar Christmas songs. The collection also includes exclusive original songs, making it a must-have for Beatles collectors. Following The Beatles’ breakup, a limited edition “Christmas Album” was released in the UK, compiling all seven of The Beatles’ Christmas records onto one album. A version with a different cover design was also released in the US, but the originals are rare and difficult to obtain. While a 7″ vinyl box set has been released, the album has never been officially released on CD. This latest release, “The Complete Christmas Collection – New Masters Edition,” is a newly revised and updated version of the label’s Christmas albums. CD 1 features a newly remixed and complete version of The Beatles’ only original Christmas song, “Christmas Time Is Here Again,” recorded in 1967. This release has been newly edited into stereo, demixed from mono. Next is a medley of Christmas songs, a compilation of excerpts from various Christmas-related recordings, minus the dialogue, and featuring only the vocals. The lack of dialogue makes this compilation easier to listen to, and it’s also a newly remastered stereo version. The second half of the set features the original recordings from Christmas records from 1963 to 1969, all newly remastered and released on CD. Finally, CD 2 features a chronological collection of Christmas-related recordings, including interviews, BBC broadcasts, and even studio outtakes from Christmas records. This special edition features Paul’s private Christmas album, “Unforgettable,” recorded in 1965, with a complete reproduction of the original playlist. This fascinating private recording features Paul DJing his favorite songs, from Elvis to the Stones.
