Description
Ace Frehley returned to the scene in 1992 after a two-year silence. This powerful video brings the “JUST FOR FUN Tour” to his room. This work was filmed at the August 2, 1992, New York City performance. This is the ultimate audience shot. Speaking of the “JUST FOR FUN Tour,” it’s a memorable moment for us as it marked the legendary first solo visit to Japan, and the soundboard masterpiece “JUST FOR FUN JAPAN TOUR 1993” is also a major staple. First, let’s take a bird’s-eye view of Frehley’s activities at the time and examine the position of this work. 1992 July 19th – August 29th: North America #1 (24 shows) ←★Here★ October 29th – December 31st: North America #2 (10 shows) 1993 January 22nd: Bensalem show March 4th – April 3rd: North America #3 (13 shows) April 23rd – June 26th: North America #4 (17 shows) July 21st – 31st: North America #5 (5 shows) November 4th – 8th: First solo visit to Japan (5 shows) ←※SBD and others in Japan November 24th + December 4th: North America #6 (2 shows) Ace Frehley in 1992/1993. The previous “TROUBLE WALKIN’ Tour” ended in April 1990, so it was a restart after two years and three months. This New York performance was the 11th performance of “North America #1,” which was the opening performance. It was one year and three months before his first solo visit to Japan. This vacuum-packed show is a shockingly powerful video. It’s a series of super close-ups! The unobstructed view is wonderful, but the impact of the close-ups is even greater. When he starts singing, his facial close-ups take over the screen, and when he goes solo, his guitar hands spill out of the monitor. The close-ups are so close you’d want to call them “completely pro-shot-level.” Moreover, the view is diverse. Naturally, the focus is on the main ace, but not only that, he approaches all the members along the highlights. What’s more, no matter who you zoom in on, it’s pro-level, so it’s impressive. Since it was shot through a peephole, as in the early ’90s, the exact shooting position is unknown, but since the equipment at the time achieved a completely official close-up, it must have been a very close seat. Furthermore, this work is the highest peak version of such a masterpiece video. In fact, the same footage has been uploaded to a certain famous video site, but there are dozens of video disturbances and sound skips. This work is a unique master that is different from that, and there are almost no such disturbances. It is the best version with a much better sense of stability. Ace’s expression, which is impatient due to trouble, is also depicted in a close-up, powerful shot, a scorching hot full show that is burning with restart. It is a similar but different set that reminds me of his first solo visit to Japan, so let’s organize it by comparing. Solo (8 songs + α) Ace Frehley: New York Groove / Speedin’ Back to My Baby (Wiped-Out / Hard Times) (★) / Rip It Out Frehley’s Comet: Breakout / Rock Soldiers Trouble Walkin’: Lost in Limbo (★) / Shot Full of Rock / 2 Young 2 Die KISS Numbers (6 songs) Emissary from Hell: Cold Gin / Strutter Other: Rocket Ride / Parasite / Shock Me / Detroit Rock City *Note: * indicates songs not performed during his first solo tour of Japan. …And so on. While the performances are generally consistent with his Japan tour, he also performs rare tracks like the “Speedin’ Back to My Baby Medley” and “Lost in Limbo,” which he didn’t perform in Japan. The opening track, “Rocket Ride,” is a bit amusing. It starts off great, but suddenly Ace’s guitar string breaks. Ace’s impatient expression as he sings, his eyes searching for a roadie, is captured in close-up. It’s incredibly powerful. The pro-quality close-ups continue endlessly, yet with exceptional stability and ease of viewing, and the camerawork is varied. This is shocking footage of incredible cinematography. While it certainly brings back memories of his first solo visit to Japan, it’s also a masterpiece showcasing the depth of audience photography. This is a powerful audience shot from the “August 2, 1992 New York City” performance. The close-ups are endless, with close-ups dominating the screen as he sings, and as he solos, his guitar hands spill out of the monitor. Even when his guitar string breaks during “Rocket Ride,” Ace’s impatient expression as he sings is captured in close-up. This is the only uncut, best version in the world! This is a rock live video! The only version in the world with no distortion. The Limelight, New York City, NY, USA 2nd August 1992 AMAZING SHOT!!! 1. Intro 2. Rocket Ride 3. Lost In Limbo 4. Parasite 5. Breakout 6.
