Description
BAD COMPANY’s recording archive has been revitalized following the passing of Mick Ralphs. The latest release, “RUN WITH THE PACK Tour,” is a new masterpiece. This work captures the April 23, 1976 Chicago performance. It’s a massive audience recording. Speaking of 1976, the legendary “LIVE IN ALBUQUERQUE 1976” also comes to mind, but of course, this is a separate performance. Let’s start by taking a look at the band’s activities at the time, including the circumstances surrounding that. January 2nd + 3rd: London (2 shows) {January 30th “RUN WITH THE PACK” release} February 8th-21st: Europe (8 shows) March 8th-April 23rd: North America #1 (33 shows) ←★here★ May 6th-28th: North America #2 (16 shows) {July-August “BURNIN’ SKY” production} This is BAD COMPANY in 1976. They did a mini-tour in Europe, but their main focus was North America. They took two tours, with about two weeks off in between. The Chicago performance in this work was part of the first half of “North America #1,” but this is a hotly contested area, with the official “LIVE IN ALBUQUERQUE 1976” and the classic “LIVE FOR PROVIDENCE” also crowded here. Let’s focus on the dates further. Details of “North America #1”: March 8th + 9th (2 shows) * March 10th “LIVE IN ALBUQUERQUE 1976 (Official)” * March 13th – April 12th (21 shows) * April 13th “LIVE FOR PROVIDENCE” * April 14th – April 22nd (7 shows) * April 23rd: Chicago show ←★This work★ As such, the Chicago show in this work marked the final day of “North America #1,” marking the end of the tour. This vacuum-packed recording of the scene is a valuable one, full of extra-thickness. Though it’s a vintage audience, the core is powerful and powerful. There’s no sense of emptiness at all, and the four-person ensemble approaches your ears without any sense of distance. While the peaks are sometimes distorted due to the sheer power, it doesn’t hurt your ears thanks to the freshness. It was digitized directly from the first generation master, showing almost no dubbing marks or deterioration over time. Of course, this work is also the highest peak update of such a master. The original sound released online was so slow in pitch that it was hard to listen to, but this work is just right and stable. Furthermore, the balance of the range was adjusted based on frequency analysis. We maximized the potential hidden in the valuable record and pursued perfection as a musical work. Such a thick, vintage sound depicts a full show that condenses three great masterpieces. It is a set that is similar but not identical to the official “LIVE IN ALBUQUERQUE 1976,” so let’s organize it by comparing them. Run With The Pack (7 songs), Live For The Music, Simple Man, Young Blood, Sweet Lil’ Sister, Silver, Blue & Gold (*), Run With The Pack, Honey Child, and others (8 songs). Bad Company: Ready For Love, Rock Steady, Can’t Get Enough. Straight Shooter: Good Lovin’ Gone Bad, Wild Fire Woman (★), Feel Like Makin’ Love, Deal With The Preacher, Shooting Star. *Note: * denotes songs exclusive to the 1970s that weren’t performed after the reunion. * denotes songs not featured on the official “LIVE IN ALBUQUERQUE 1976” or “LIVE FOR PROVIDENCE” albums. While single B-sides and covers were featured in the early days, by 1976 the band had a wealth of original material, and the album consisted entirely of album tracks. This set has become much more luxurious. Among them, “Sweet Lil’ Sister” is a rare gem. Although it’s not marked with a “★” because it was only performed once in 2008, it’s essentially a track exclusive to this tour. BAD COMPANY’s mid-’70s era produced one classic song after another. The “RUN WITH THE PACK Tour,” which brought together these classics at the band’s peak performance, may have been their most delicious tour yet. This is a rare live album that allows you to fully experience a period that, despite its richness, is poorly documented. This is a super-thick audience recording from the Chicago performance on April 23, 1976. This masterpiece, digitized from the first Gen cassette, is powerful and not at all hollow. The four-piece ensemble plays seamlessly and draws you right to the ear. Experience a full show that condenses the band’s first three albums, including “Wild Fire Woman,” a track never performed after the band’s reorganization.
