Description
In 1995, he was in the midst of a cold war with the record company he belonged to after abandoning the name Prince. It was also the second peak of his energetic composing career, and on the other hand, Prince celebrated his second birthday after changing his name and gave a fulfilling performance at Glam Slam Miami. This time, we will focus on the period from his birthday in 1995 to just before he came to Japan in 1996, and although all of them are audience recordings, we will record in almost chronological order the live performances at Paisley Park, where it was considered impossible to infiltrate and record at all. We will release a total of three 6CD titles. The name is Lost Open Sessions. It covers Open Sessions and sound sources not included in them. First part. The concert will be centered around Paisley Park, but I can’t leave out Miami. This will be our second birthday concert after 1994. First of all, what I would like to note here is that Eric Ries was present on both June 8th and 9th, 1995. His horn contribution is extremely high, and his unique phrases echo everywhere. There is a sound board for about half of the performance on the 8th, but here is a complete recording of the audience version. Of course, there are highlights everywhere, such as Pink Cashmere’s famous performance involving Eric’s blowjob, but the better performance was on the 9th, when I Love U In Me mixed in P.Control’s lyrics, making it even sexier, and on Peach, Chaos And A version with the riff of Disorder, Asswoop from Madhouse 24, a dunk medley from Skin Tight by the Ohio Players, sung by Prince, U Got Shake Something and 16 Phrases, and The Most Beautiful Girl In The World. Eric’s saxophone transforms it into a jazzy atmosphere. Similarly, in Race, Eric plays the song, but this time the arrangement has more funkness, and it becomes the key to the culmination of Parliament’s Flash Light cover. At Paisley Park on June 18th, the sound was dominated by keyboards, and gradually became the fusion of coolness and funk jam of 18 & Over, Return Of The Bump Squad from the bluesy intro, and Brick House, which teased with a plucking guitar. The guitar also comes to the front. From the 16-minute long version of Get Wild to Volkswagen Blues from Glam Slam Boogie to the sharp guitar jam Santana Medley, this is another amazing live performance. Although there is a slight jump in time, at Paisley Park on October 10th, there will be a full performance of We March, which includes amazing drumming and a rare play. And the rehearsal sound source is also included, and the fulfilling content of the glorious first volume ends here.
