Description

From the 1977 “In The Flesh” tour, the Fort Worth, Texas performance on May 1st, the 35th day, is completely recorded with the highest level of ultra-high quality audience recording. Two types of sound sources recording the existing performance are both recorded in master quality. “Source #1” recorded on Discs 1 & 2 is a high quality sound source that has been familiar from the past, and is a complete recording of the concert for 2 hours and 14 minutes. In terms of sound, unlike the previously released version, it is characterized by being recorded with ultra-clear, natural, ultra-high sound quality that is unrelated to equalization and is just like the master. Roger’s performance, where you can hear his aggressive vocals from the beginning, is impressive. The lively singing that lasts around 9 minutes is a must-listen. The sound image has the vocals coming out more forward than the background sound image, and it seems that Gilmore’s guitar equipment is not in good condition, resulting in a slightly flat sound that seems to be stuck. On the other hand, the keyboard output seems to be very clear. Dogs has Gilmour’s vocals clearly recorded, just like Roger from Sheep, and his clear and attractive singing voice is wonderful and is a great listen. The guitar solo in the 2 minute range is a great performance as you can hear the groove. The dirty, stabbing solo from the latter half of the 3 minute mark is wonderful and overwhelming, but the guitar doesn’t make any sound for about 13 seconds from 5 minutes 17 seconds, which makes the solo in the middle of the song depressing. However, once it starts playing, you can hear a truly amazing performance. Although it seems that the equipment is not in perfect condition, the person himself seems to be in very good spirits and condition. The part featuring the lick in the second half is also recorded with a sound that is far away and has a direct feel, so you can enjoy it with an ideal sound image. What’s even more amazing is the last guitar solo at the 13 minute mark, where you can enjoy the piercing, most attractive and ideal sound and play. Pigs On The Wing is also captured with a very clear sound image, and Snowy’s tasteful solo in the second half is also recorded very clearly. Pigs records Roger’s theatrical and hysterical vocals very clearly, allowing you to enjoy his exquisite performance in the highest quality. Both Nick’s drums and Gilmore’s guitar sound well-balanced, and you can see that the PA is creating an ideal sound compared to the beginning. The part where everyone loses track of the composition at 9:15 and the texture becomes overly sweet is endearing. You can also listen to the rare mistake that Rick’s organ arpeggio is delayed at 10:15. At 12:50, Roger shouted “34!” in a groaning voice. Interesting performances continue, including the jam part in the second half and Nick’s drums. The guitar intro play of Shine On You Crazy Diamond in the second part is unique. Both Gilmore and Snowy will listen to wonderful solo play, but on this day Snowy is in charge of the solo after Rick’s synth solo (8:24 ~). He plays a Gilmore-style solo, but his unique tone and flowing, precise solo play are different from Gilmore’s and are interesting to listen to. Roger’s vocals are as emotional and powerful as ever. A must-listen to this day’s unusual singing! ! For some reason, the saxophone does not appear on this day. In Welcome To The Machine, you can hear the unusual singing of Welcome, Welcome in the twin vocals in the chorus at 5:15. Have A Cigar, where you can listen to an ideal performance in which the overall sound is organically combined, is also exquisite. Don’t miss Snowy’s original solo play that lasts for 2 minutes from around 3:15. Wish You Were Here, which is performed following the new longer SE (also surprising), has a beautiful acoustic guitar interplay that makes you listen to it beautifully. Gilmore’s vocals are also tasteful, and the performance is highly complete. Shine On You Crazy Diamond Parts 6-9 starts in a heavy mode, and at the beginning, Rick’s creative keyboard play enlivens the atmosphere. Gilmore and Snowy’s powerful guitar playing gradually increases in intensity, and you can enjoy the overwhelming sound drama. It’s amazing how two different types of guitarists stimulate each other and create a creative space, and you can feel the unique charm of Floyd’s work that you can’t find in any other period. In particular, the original sound space in the second half of this day’s SOYCD is indescribably wonderful and is a must-listen for all Floyd fans. When things go well, everything seems to go well, and the Moog solo at the end of today’s song is recorded with the best sound ever, allowing you to enjoy the exquisite performance until the very end. In the encore Money, where you can listen to a solid performance, the saxophone seems to have trouble at the 2 minute mark, and the solo starts in the middle. During the guitar solo part, the sound may be farther away or closer due to the sound moving equipment in the venue. In Us And Them, Gilmore will give you a tasteful vocal. The chorus part also has a high-pitched sound, which shows how well the song was doing that day. Discs 3 & 4 include the day’s differential recording take “Source #2”. Contains 1 hour and 33 minutes of music from Pigs to Showend’s Us And Them. It is recorded with sufficient high-quality sound with outstanding freshness, and is an important sound source that collectors should obtain as another valuable record of the day. Unlike Source #1’s crunchy, direct sound, the sound is closer and fuller, giving you a milder, more airy sound source. Perhaps because the drums are recorded clearly, the sound is crisp and the groove is conveyed straight through, making it a high-quality sound source. The 90-minute tape has been mastered, and there is a tape reversal cut at the beginning of Wish You Were Here, but the overall sense of stability is outstanding. Shine On You Crazy Diamond Parts 6-9, which can be said to be the biggest listening point, is recorded with such amazing sound quality that it would be a waste for Floyd fans not to listen to it, and it is said to be a masterpiece. This is another valuable high-quality document from this day. The two encore songs recorded on Disc 4 have a more attractive sound than “Source #1”, and the solid sound with a strong bottom, like that recorded by Mike Millard, is wonderful, and fans will definitely like it. Must listen. This is the first take that fans must listen to. A definitive edition of the 1977 Fort Worth performance that includes two types of high-quality sound sources, both in master quality.
