Description
Floyd went on a North American tour in September 1972, with the release of “Madness” the following year, and San Francisco held two consecutive days on the 23rd and 24th at Winterland, and the opening day performance was recorded on the original master. Recorded with higher quality audience recording. The contents include all The Dark Side Of The Moon songs performed in the first part of the show and One Of These Days and Eugene in the second part. This is an original reel tape that was recorded and owned by a Japanese living in San Francisco at the time, and was probably a take recorded on a 60-minute cassette and copied onto reel tape, which has excellent preservation. As you might guess, you can enjoy a valuable live performance with a high-quality sound image with outstanding freshness. It is a valuable sound source that first appeared in the world in 2005, and since the title itself is currently sold out and out of print, it can be said to be a great piece for fans who have not heard it. Although it feels a little distant, as mentioned above, the clear and fresh sound image is completely worth listening to. The drawbacks are that you can hear the degraded sound peculiar to reel tape in the latter half of the madness, and there are two cuts in Us And Them and a cut around the 4th minute in Eugene, but it is the only one that captures the performance of this day. A must-have for fans as a source. In the first minute of Speak To Me, the voices of the Japanese taper and his friend who say “Hey XXX” and make weird excited noises are also real. Please enjoy this precious sound recording.
