Description

Miracleman’s recording of Aerosmith’s first day at the Budokan has arrived! The 1977 Japan tour had seven performances across the country (two at the Tokyo Budokan on either side of the day), and legendary performances were held at each location. Among them, the performance on January 31st, the first day at the Budokan, was so outstanding that the record company staff at the time even listed it in the top three of the best live performances in history. (They still regret that they were not able to officially record it and officially release it as “Live at Budokan”.) Unfortunately, there was no satisfactory audience recording of the performance on this day, and fans have been frustrated for a long time. Then our Miracleman appeared! We were lucky that he participated in the first day of Tokyo performance, which had a particularly good performance, during Aerosmith’s first visit. Although the sound quality has a moderate sense of distance, the sound image is stable and the sound is very easy to listen to. Perhaps because of the good microphones used, the sound is not muddy, and the band’s explosive sound is captured firmly with a vivid sound that is extremely fresh. Although it is not a sound like a line recording, the drums are recorded clearly and tightly, and it can be said that it is an irresistible sound for fans of 70’s rock concert recordings. The punch of the sound is clear, the sense of separation of the sound is excellent, and the sound quality improves as the show progresses, especially disc 2 is amazing. It is also a great point that it has been recorded with such a powerful sound and there is no sound distortion at all. Listening to this, I think that the performance and stage of this day are indeed really amazing. At present, this is the best take that captures this “miracle live”, so it is definitely a must-have for fans. The only downsides are the missing opening of Sick As A Dog and the uncollected encore Toys In The Attic. The second half of disc 2 includes an additional high-quality audience recording taken by the record company staff at the time, which was used in the past for “WHOLE PLACE ROCKIN'” and “ROCKS TOKYO”. This contains 45 minutes recorded on one side of a 90-minute tape, and this time it has been moderately remastered, allowing you to enjoy it with even higher quality than the previous releases of the same sound source. This one also has a dango-like overall sound (you can see that the sound of the venue was like this in the first place), but when you listen to it again, it is recorded with amazing high quality sound, and you can enjoy this wonderful live performance with a rich sound as it has been evaluated as “the definitive sound source of the first day of the Budokan, even though it is incomplete”. It may be incomplete, but if you don’t listen to this sound, it’s a waste! It’s a recording that makes you think that. Anyway, the sound and performance are explosive, and you can enjoy a really amazing performance with high quality sound. This one seems to have been recorded closer to the stage than the Miracle Man sound source, and the sound is intensely direct. This one too. It is recorded with a clear, separated and punchy sound that is exceptional for an audience recording of that time. Each of the two sound sources was recorded and made into a CD from the master cassette, making this a must-have two-disc set for fans.
