Description
This is a must-have album for fans, featuring the third day of Yes’ last US tour of the 1970s, the second day of the Long Beach Arena performance in California on May 26th, which began with the Fresno performance on May 24, 1979, and was recorded in full for about 2 hours and 20 minutes with an ultra-high quality audience recording comparable to a line recording. Fans will surely be amazed at the quality of the opening Siberian Khatru recorded on the third track. Yes’s “Tormato” tour, which continued its commercial peak, had many concerts from 1978 to 1979, and there are many high-quality recordings, but this title using this new master is truly exceptional! The crystal clear sound, the strangely stable sound image, and the sound that makes you wonder what kind of microphone system you need to set up to record such high quality sound are so exceptional. The sound of each instrument is superb, especially the closeness of the guitar solo and the punch of the keyboard are wonderful, and you can enjoy a sound that you have never heard before. From the cheers in the distance between songs and the overall sound, it is assumed that the recording was made at a position slightly away from the stage, but all the musical sounds, including the lead instrument sounds of the guitar and keyboard, are recorded with an unusually large and clear sound, and it is difficult to judge what kind of environment it was recorded in. What is this really? The stability and spread of the overall sound is unbelievable, and you can experience a sound experience that you have never heard before, including the lead instrument sounds recorded with surprisingly close sounds. The guitar and keyboard entanglement in the intro of Future Times is recorded with a stunned clear sound, and it is definitely the first time that the band ensemble before and after Rejoice has been recorded so beautifully. It is a sound of a different dimension, and you can hear the “difference” in this area in one shot. “Big Medley” is also a masterpiece, and the clarity of the guitar from the second half of Time And A Word to the beginning of Long Distance Runaround is extraordinary, and you can clearly hear many parts of the sound of the details that you have never heard before, such as the overall orchestration and Alan’s percussion in The Fish part. It is a place to listen to the whole story, and customers who listen to it in the store will probably be very surprised. The excitement of each part such as Survival / The Fish / Perpetual Change / Gates Of Delirium that can be heard with this sound is tremendous, and it can only be described as a magical sound that exceeds the sound board. Even in the second half of Disc 2, the sound is even more amazing. I don’t think there has ever been such a good sounding And You And I. Starship Trooper is full of groove (Wurm in the second half where the speakers roar is really powerful with guitar, keyboard, and drums!) The closeness of the sound of Rick’s keyboard solo is more shocking than surprising, and it is hard to believe that it was recorded in a large venue. The big song Awaken, like the aforementioned And You And I, is probably the best sound of the existing takes. Even the relaxed Tour Song, in which John repeatedly chants “Thank you so much, USA!”, is recorded with amazing sounds from all instruments, including Rick’s clavi. You can see the minute cut at 0:08 at the beginning of I’ve Seen All Good People, but the rest is recorded in perfect condition up to the last Roundabout. If you listen to it, you will understand why it was late “TRULY PERFECT” instead of “PERFECT”. Enjoy the ironclad Jesus Shows of this era with an unprecedented sound!
