Description

A masterpiece live album that captures the moment when the monumental album “SERPENCE ALBUS” broke out is now available! The first master that suddenly appeared on the internet and stunned enthusiasts with its best sound has been further upgraded with a digital remaster. This sound is really amazing. It is extremely clear, yet gives a sense of the spaciousness of the large venue, and has good balance. It’s the kind of recording where you can’t find any flaws, and if it comes out on one tour (no matter what band), you’re lucky. The tour is different, but if you have “SHARWOOD LEGEND”, which was even called the “miracle of customer recording”, I think you will understand if you say “that level”. Some people may say, “If it’s a ‘SERPENCE ALBUS’ tour? Then just the FM recording ‘THE NIGHT SERPENT’ is fine.” However, this work has a brilliance that cannot be found even in such masterpieces. It is a “challenger’s performance” that takes on a challenge. To help you understand the meaning, let me first explain the situation at WHITESNAKE at the time. In June 1987, when the single “Here I Go Again” and the album “SERPENCE ALBUS” were climbing the charts, Coverdale formed a super band consisting of metal stars and set out on a world tour. However, although it was a hit, the early part of the tour was the opening act of MOTOLEY CRUE. It was promoted to headliner status from the end of October 1987. This work contains the Wisconsin performance on September 6th just before it became the headline. Since it was the opening act, most of the customers were looking for MOTLEY CRUE. Although we feel that we are “popular all over the United States,” we are still in the process of developing. It is a bit different from the Yokozuna sumo shows that followed, and is filled with the enthusiasm of the challengers, who say, “I’ll take the main prize” and “I’ll go as far as I can.” What’s more, it’s like they’re going around the country announcing, “We’re the White Snakes!”, so you can feel the concentration in their performance, and there’s no failure (in a good way). It is a rare show that is filled with passion, but also connects to the precision of the performance. The place where you can feel this most is Coverdale. It was a high-tension performance backed by a big hit and loud cheers, but it seemed like they were trying to “convey the goodness of the song” more than usual. For example, even on “Bad Boys / Children Of The Night,” where he enjoys interacting with the audience in most of the recordings, he sings it himself and says, “Isn’t it a good song? Please remember it.” This kind of careful attitude is present throughout the entire album, and it is a big difference from the live performances of later years, where the singers sang with a secondary focus on pitch. Also, what makes this possible is career-high vocalization. After overcoming the surgery, “SERPENCE ALBUS” began to produce high tones like a different person, and its power exploded. The depth of the mid-bass is the same as before, and the treble continues beautifully. In the next “SLIP OF THE TONGUE”, it is said that “the voice has withered”, and it becomes difficult to listen to the shout, but here such a future seems to be a lie. Even if you are an old fan who dislikes the shouting style, you can’t help but be satisfied with this excellent performance. You can enjoy the “miraculous voice” in most of the sound sources on this tour, but especially in this undercard performance, they run with “all the energy they have left” until the very end. Regardless of your personal preferences, there is no doubt that this is the most shining voice of this genius vocalist in his entire life. When it comes to the opening act, the shortness of the set list is difficult to describe. I thought this was a bit of a flaw, but somehow the tight flow is quite pleasant. Not only does it require concentration in the limited time available, but with the exception of one song, “Slide It In”, all songs are selected from “SERPENCE ALBUS”, and the result is a live version of this historic masterpiece. is. The guitar solo time that is not omitted even in such a tight set is also wonderful. At the time, Irish (Vivian Campbell) was ridiculed as having become American due to her flamboyant break from the past, but she did not hide her admiration for Gary Moore and Gary Moore. The Dutchman (Adrian Vandenberg) is also a believer in Leslie West. At first listen, it sounds like the technique was in its heyday, but it’s definitely a European flavor from the two of them, who can feel the melody even in their fast playing. (Although it’s not as good as their predecessors) What other band could you hope for, with solos that alternate between Gary and Schenker flavors? A moment when success, passion, and talent are all about to reach their peak. It is a masterpiece that captures it with a super audience like no other. In recent years, WHITESNAKE has been officially archived, but the pinnacle “SERPENS ALBUS tour” has not been realized. Even if the official paid attention to “SERPENS ALBUS Tour”, it would not be as sparkling as this work. It is a great recording that you can be sure of.
