In the spring of 2018, after the end of the 30th anniversary tour of “The Joshua Tree”, “eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE TOUR 2018”, part 2 of the “iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE TOUR” held in 2015, started. This title is a coupling of rehearsals and live performances held before the North American tour. First, discs 1 and 2 contain the dress rehearsal in Quebec, Canada, which took place from April 18th to 20th, recorded with soundboard audio from an ear monitor leaked by a person involved. Since it is a rehearsal just before the tour, the performance follows the flow of the main live performance, but be sure to check out the songs and cover numbers that will not be performed in the actual performance. And for the live recordings, the live performances in San Jose, California, which were held two consecutive performances on May 7th and 8th, are completely recorded from high-quality audience masters on both days.・ The core of the set was the repertoire from “SONGS OF EXPERIENCE”, with eight songs performed on this day, and instead, nothing from “THE JOSHUA TREE” was played, and the show without “Where the Streets Have No Name” or “With or Without You” was refreshing in a sense. On the other hand, it was nice to hear “Acrobat” from “ACHTUNG BABY” for the first time, “Staring At The Sun” from “POP” for the first time in 17 years, and numbers that haven’t been in the set for over 10 years, such as “The Ocean” and “All Because of You”, and there were also plenty of highlights, such as Bono’s “Mr. MacPhisto” appearing for the first time since the “ZooTV” tour.
