Description
This is a 61-minute high-quality recording of the Michigan Palace concert in Detroit on January 7, 1974, which took place in the midst of recording the second album “Get Your Wings”. In the Aerosmith feature in the specialist magazine “Beatleg” vol.149, it was described as “definitely a stereo soundboard recording, and the best sound of the 1974 live recordings”, and it is certainly the best sound quality for an audience recording. However, it is a fairly excellent stereo recording that does not have the direct feeling that is typical of line recordings, so I guess it was probably recorded with a stereo microphone at the venue. The freshness and positioning of the sound are very good, and although it is not as clear as the Rosslyn performance, which is clearly a line recording, the sound is clear enough, and even as a microphone recording, the sound is more complete. It is a recording that sounds so high quality that I think it is too good. The performance has definitely scaled up compared to the Boston performance in March 1974, which captured the band’s early days, but it is still far from the spectacular performance of 1975, so it is positioned as an important recording that captures Aerosmith in a “transitional” period. There are some stiff performances, including new songs, and mistakes and somewhat awkward performances are also charms unique to this period. Remastered from the recording, which is said to be the best ever, digitized from reels. Adjusted the pitch about 25% higher by a semitone. 8trk S.O.S. (Too Bad) From 3:53 (tape change) to the end, the left channel only drops in high and the balance is significantly disrupted, making this the best version. Equalization has been applied to improve the overall sound quality, greatly improving the sound quality. Live at Michigan Palace, Detroit, MI. USA 7th January 1974 PERFECT SOUND (61:03) 1. Make It 2.
