Description
In 1988, the second album of the comeback, “Permanent Vacation,” was an unprecedented hit. The tour of Japan, the first in 11 years, included five performances: Osaka Castle Hall on June 20, Nippon Budokan on June 21, 23, and 24, and Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium on June 26. The final performance, the Yokohama performance on June 26, was recorded in full from the original audience master that was recently unearthed. While the first day’s Osaka and Budokan performances had been distributed until now, this Yokohama performance was also recorded directly from a good master cassette at the time, and finally saw the light of day here for the first time. The set started with two classics, “Toys In The Attic” and “Same Old Song And Dance,” followed by “Somebody” and “Big Ten Inch Record,” followed by the rare “Rock In A Hard Place” without Joe and “Lightning Strikes.” He then continued with the catchphrase “I’m going to take you all on a permanent vacation. I don’t think you’ll ever come back!”, followed by “Rag Doll”, “Hangman Jury”, “Permanent Vacation”, “Angel”, and a cover of Jimi Hendrix. Brad’s guitar solo, Joe’s solo on “Get The Leads”, and “Draw The Line” were all full throttle. The next song was “Heart’s Done Time”, where the two exchanged guitar solos, and Steven played the piano and sang the moving “Dream On”, and the main set ended with “Sweet Emotion”. The encore ended with “Dude” and “Walk This Way”, making it a must-listen memorial item for fans. disc one : 1. TOYS IN THE ATTIC/2. SAME OLD SONG AND DANCE/3. SOMEBODY/4. BIG TEN INCH RECORD/5.
