Description

The best live album from the much talked about super big joint tour “ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS” is here. Recently, big joint tours have become common, but it is normal to simply tour together and have one or two guest appearances. However, this tour is an unprecedented joint tour in which the stage is shared and the lead changes almost every song. It is such a groundbreaking tour that it is attracting attention from all over the world. Many famous recordings have been reported, but this work is an exceptionally wonderful live album among them. The tour is scheduled for about one month from June 21st to July 24th, with a total of 21 performances, and this work is the audience album of the fourth performance “Camden performance on June 26, 2016”. After all, let’s introduce the points of the recording, which is full of things to listen to. [Point 1: Miracle joint] First of all, the show itself is groundbreaking. When the tour was announced, they said, “We’ll play two songs together and decide who will do our own set list,” but when the tour started, it was completely different. From the beginning, Peter’s “The Rhythm of the Heat” was followed by Sting’s “If I Ever Lose My Faith in You,” and the front was switched almost every song. Even if they gave up the front, they would join in as backing vocals and performances. Moreover, the songs played were gorgeous and spectacular, with each other’s representative songs and popular songs lined up in a row. It was almost like a concert where the best albums of the two were shuffled. [Point 2: A gorgeous duet] The biggest attraction of this fusion stage was the duet where the two superstars shared the microphone. There were songs where one of them took the backing vocals, so it was difficult to strictly separate them, but they were duets especially on “No Self Control,” “Games Without Frontiers,” “Englishman in New York,” “Solsbury Hill,” “Every Breathe You Take,” and “Sledgehammer.” You can hear plenty of the two legendary singers singing one after the other and blending their voices together. [Point 3: Covering each other] The duet alone is enough to make you dizzy, but they even went so far as to cover each other’s signature songs. Sting sings “Shock the Monkey” and “Kiss that Frog,” and Peter sings “If You Love Somebody Set Them Free.” It’s amazing that such a big star can remember someone else’s song, but to sing it in front of him… It’s an amazing space that is unparalleled in the long history of rock. Looking at the set list, there is GENESIS’s “Dancing With the Moonlit Knight,” and I thought, “Finally, Peter is doing GENESIS!?” But unfortunately (?) the vocals here are Sting. Moreover, he only sang the intro for just under two minutes. Although expectations were high, when you think about it, it’s still amazing that Sting is singing GENESIS… [Point 4: Intense clear sound] This work, which records such a highly anticipated concert, is a magnificent audience recording. The best thing is the clarity of the latest digital equipment. The atmosphere of the venue is crystal clear, and each musical note and singing voice shines brightly. Although it is not close enough to be called “like a sound board,” the musical notes that reach straight and vividly are thick. The musical notes that are not muddy with reverberation and echo are as beautiful as the official live albums. No matter how beautiful the musical notes are, this work is still an audience recording. The cheers full of flavor are also wonderful. The venue, “BB & T Pavilion,” is an open space with a capacity of 25,000 people, but it is probably because there is no venue reverberation that goes around only outdoors. The vast sea of enthusiasm and clapping is not muddy at all. The chorus that occurs with a set list full of big hits creates a beautiful and magnificent spectacle. A groundbreaking collaboration concert that will captivate you with super big names. It is a famous recording that allows you to experience the whole picture in detail and clearly. The three most important elements of a live album are “good songs, good sound, and good performance,” and even though they cover each other’s songs, duet, and sing alternately, the enthusiasm and breathing of the audience witnessing the miracle are also real. This is a must-listen album in every respect. It will be delivered to you this weekend. Live at BB&T Pavilion, Camden, NJ. USA 26th June 2016 TRULY PERFECT/ULTIMATE SOUND Disc 1(62:44) 1.
