Description

A treasured recording of a June 1984 Newcastle concert just after the new guitarist John Valentine Carruthers joined the band, with a good stereo audience recording! A treasured recording of a live performance held at City Hall, Newcastle, England, with a capacity of about 2,100 people, on June 18, 1984, just after the new guitarist John Valentine Carruthers joined the band from the EP “THE THORN” released in October 1984 after Robert Smith left the band, with a good stereo audience recording! The sound source used was digitally transferred from the low-gene master, and the sound quality is not high quality due to the deterioration of one channel, but the pitch and positioning deviations caused by the master have been carefully corrected and the sound quality has been recorded with a fairly good quality by remastering. The opening song “Dazzle” starts with a long version of the strings intro, and the set list features five songs from the album “Hyaena” which was released just after the album was released, including “Red Over White” from the EP “THE THORN” released in October of the same year. In addition, “Desert Kisses” features an arrangement similar to the demo version included in the 2006 reissue/remastered CD of “Kaleidoscope”, so there are plenty of highlights to listen to!
